Alternate Endings: Discuss Here

In the end, it's also where my biggest disappointments with X-Men 3 and now Wolverine come into play. We get trailers and TV spots full of epic, and emotion, and character, but it's edited in a way that it moves way too fast for that epic, emotion, and character to sink in.

That's how I feel as well, but to a larger extent. I really can't stand films that have trailers more effective then the film itself. I noticed a lot of the movies I dislike follow that trend, and I don't think it's a coincidence.

And that's what sucks about these movies.

In and of themselves, they aren't bad movies. They are rather good movies.

But compared to what they could have, and SHOULD have been, and were advertised as via trailers, THAT'S where the disappointment comes.

Ghost Rider really suffered to me the same problems as Hellboy. A completely dark subject matter, made into a family friendly kid flick with nothing but jokes and one liners.

Although Ghost Rider was better to me, I thought the movie was at least halfway decent. And then that scene of Nick Cage and Sam Elliot blazing through the desert - I thought that scene was pretty full of bad ass.

I mean, it's all there, but it's gone before it has a chance to sink in.
This movie is just the same:huh::huh::huh:

Wolverine's past is dark and gritty but we got the kiddy fun train to explosionville sans blood and brooding.

I don't feel that it's kiddified to the extent of Hellboy or Ghost Rider.

It is kiddified, for sure, but it's not nearly the episode of Sesame Street that was Hellboy.

Uhhh Hellboy is way more gory than this film. But yes, it was also toned down.

the Hellboy movies aren't about...horror...they are very light...they have that corny classic feel to them like star wars, like they don't take themselves seriously...and I think Del Toro is visually amazing!

He does make visually stunning movies:up: That is why I loved the Hellboy movies, they were quirky and they have fun on purpose...something we hadn't seen yet.

You want to make a "fun" movie, then don't make a movie about a demon hellspawn trapped on Earth who fights against the armies of Hell.

You are going to knock Hellboy but call out those that knock this film:huh: Hellboy may have been out of character but so is Wolverine in this film. If you are going to make a movie about Wolverine's origin, don't make Team X and Weapon X the shortest parts of the movie:o

Listen what you say is true, it is silly. But that's not why the Hellboy series is so good. I thought the same thing when I first watched it, but the movies are great in a way people have forgotten about. The old star wars trilogy was as corny as hell, but still probably the most popular trilogy ever created...Hellboy brings that classic feel to it, and Del Toro makes some amazing visual cinematography. I mean every frame could be your wallpaper.

If there are any creatures that need to be brought to life...call Del Toro:up: Man is a genius. I also thought that Hellboy harkened back to the old monster movie days...it just all worked.

Ya know, I was watching Hellboy 2 the other day, and I noticed there was a LOT of blood in this. There was even a few heads chopped off. Esspecially during the scene where Prince Nuada kills his father. He was slicing those guard guys up left and right and blood was flying everywhere. It amazes me that this movie was rated PG-13.

The Hobbit?! yes!!!, I'm so ready to go back to my LOTR crazy days :D

Yea, rape and experimenting on people is really for kids.

Oh and for the record, I loved both Hellboy movies.

Since when is anyone shown raped in this movie?

Well they are not actually shown to be raped, but in the opening montage Creed is about to rape a little Vietnamese girl. And yea, killing innocent villagers is really light hearted stuff too

Creed could have been going to kill that girl...I don't think Fox would imply pedo rape.

Well maybe. But it depends on how you wanna take it, and considering the stories that came out of Vietnam it wouldn't surpise me if the intention was to allude to rape. Regardless, even if he was just gonna kill her it isn't exactly kid friendly is it?
