Amazon Key will allow delivery staff to drop off packages inside your home

Yep, that's definitely Silicon Valley thinking.

EDIT: I just did some reading on it and holy cow, that's a lot of technology to put into such dumb idea. It's the same kind of thinking that gave us the Juicero.

Yeah, Alexa alone creeps me out. What the hell?

Honestly, if you are in a neighborhood where your amazon packages get stolen all the time, I don't think this is the solution.

Yeah, cause if I'm in a neighborhood where this happens, I want to give access to random stranger to open my front door.

Unless those delivery drivers are paid decent wages and go through an extensive background check, they are not getting any key to my place.

Also because my cat tries to escape every time the door is opened so there's that too.

They can't even keep supposedly vetted Uber drivers from raping people.

I'm sure this won't backfire in any way whatsoever.

Future headline: "Amazon key causes drastic spike in sexual assaults".

Why can't they create Amazon Lock Box instead, where the delivery man delivers it to a lock box instead of inside your home?

Uh, they already have that. They have lots of them at 7-11's around here and now that they own Whole Foods they are going to putting them there too. Somethings are too big to fit in them so they would still need home delivery.

Amazon is cool and all, but no. Absolutely not.

Or just plain robberies. This is one of the dumbest ideas to come out. And you know they will have specific language to exempt Amazon from any criminal actions their delivery people commit if you sign up.

This one ain't happening.

I can see it running for a while and then ceasing operations within a few months, just like eBay neighbourhood.

This is the part that made me laugh:

Last month, Walmart (WMT) announced that it was testing a service that allows a delivery driver from the startup Deliv into your home, mostly for groceries. It will even give the delivery person access to your refrigerator.

Idk about others but my refrigerator doesn't have a security lock so I dontknow how Wal-Mart could stop a person from accessing my fridge. Whatever Wal-Mart is smoking must be some wonderful ****.

Oh and the camera thing is pretty funny too. You get to watch as the delivery person steals your stuff and goes through your underwear drawer. What a marvelous advanced age we live in.:o

Mother****er goes in my fridge without permission is gonna end up like Alexandra Dewitt.

I'm going to leave a human head in my fridge and watch the reaction of the delivery guy.

It's all fun and games until the cops show up, lol. :p

I want to be in the board meeting for when this idea was proposed.

Saw this on twitter:

"Amazon Murder will allow murderers to murder you inside your home"

How many levels of approval this idea must've gone through, and nobody at Amazon realized that this is a terrible idea?

I have doubts that the sales will be brisk. :(
