Yeah, I've ordered the collection, they say it's so well-made.

But on these boards is not much love for the series. Probably because it's not one of the mainstream books like Watchmen and DKR

I bought a few issues years ago when I was a kid and so sadly 99.9% of the satire went way over my head .

Being so young, the main things that drew me in was Chaykin's amazing visuals (I think I stopped buying AF when Mark Badger replaced Chaykin on interior artwork duty) and that occasionally, you got to see women in bra and panties - which for a kid nearing his teens is like finding gold. .

I guess I'll have to dig those issues out again and appreciate them on a whole new level.

Do it! There was a nice hardcover released with the first stories with restored colors (but NOT re-coloured like, for example, the horrible Neal Adams collection).

Hey True i got nothing but love for Reuben Flagg and the Plexis Rangers. i gots the whole series with Chaykin and even stayed with it a bit after he left. Nobody drew Women like Howard Chaykin did.That's why i got his Black Kiss series as a kid.( whoa baby! that was wild). Raul the Orange tabby cat was my favorite cause he was the only one with any sense. Like i said before i don't think it was better than Watchmen, but it was certainly as good.

Yes, the Neal Adams collections DO have HORRIBLE colouring...makes me so mad!!!
