When BB came out I remember reading alot of positive feedback from people like Frank Miller, Jeph loeb, Jim lee, Tim burton and all sorts of people associated with Batman in some way.

I haven't heard much from these people about TDK yet, has anyone been keeping score? It always interests me to hear their thoughts.

I heard Bob Kane arose from his grave, and saw the film. When asked by BatmanOnFilm about his opinion on it, he said (and I'm quoting here):

"****sux. Now brains."

I'd be interested in hearing this. Also, people from old films (Jack, Keaton, the old Alfred)

In the non-spoiler side of the forum there's a link to a youtube video where Val Kilmer praises the film and says 'it's what I wanted to do'. Also in that thread apparently there's an article that contains praise from Jack Nicholson who states Ledger took the role to another level or somesuch.

Can someone throw up a link to some people commenting on the first film? I ran some searches but came up with nothing.

You know thats weird, of all the "batmen" I always thought Val Kilmer would be the quickest to get away from the association with it. But If I remember correctly, he was the only one who showed up to the Batman Begins premiere?

really? whoa. that's nice to hear
actually, Kilmer & Clooney would've been
not bad for the role (if not of course for the Schumacher treatment and the dictations of WB at the time)

Kilmer int -

Former Batman star Val Kilmer has gushed about how British director Christopher Nolan has transformed the caped crusader legacy.

"Well, I really liked the last one [Batman Begins], because that's what I wanted to do with it," he told reporters in New York.

The 48-year-old played the superhero in 1995's Batman Forever, but decided not to return for the weak sequel, Batman And Robin.

"Taking nothing away from Joel Schumacher and ours - ours was its own thing and I think really well done. And it was really fun. I loved doing it," he recalled.

"I also loved Tim Burton's. I liked his angst, and even the second one [Batman Returns] which was kind of unappealing to the studio because it was so dark, but it was just fun; great, crazy performances and energy about it. But I think they've got the right combination now."

Ironically, Val's new film, Felon, opens on the same weekend as The Dark Knight in the US, so he won't be going to watch it immediately.

"Well, I won't be seeing it when it opens!" he said, winking.

"They're trying to blow us out of the water. They don't have a chance! Yeah, sure I'll see it. I wanna see that motorcycle in action. And also, I wouldn't say I was a close friend of Heath Ledger's but I knew him, and it was just awful when he died
