Anyone Reading The "spectre"..tales Of The Unexpected?

I just read the Batman cameo issue.....
Very Aparo like in the story telling. I liked it a lot.

Anybody else liking Crispus Allen as the new host???

I'm reading it. I think the strong point of the book is actually Brian Azzarello's back-ups in DR. 13 which has just been a complete riot since the first issue.

However, I do enjoy the Spectre story, I thought the Batman one has been the weakest of them so far but overall a strong series. There are things I like about the changes and things I don't - I kind of wish Crispus had the control over the Spectre like him and it were symbiotic (like shown before) rather than the Spectre simply takes a ride in Crispus.

However, Crispus makes an awesome host/Spectre in my opinion and it is one of the best things they could have done with the power. I'm enjoying the story and the mystery - I just wish Crispus was more a cop and had more influence that just a watcher. But that might be the way the story is going.

I've never heard of David Lapham before but he's a done a good job - just the back ups do a better one

I'm enjoying it as well. Though i'm in and out on the Dr. 13 back ups. Sometimes i'm in love with it, other times, it's like Family Circus.

The Dr. 13 back-ups confuse me. As one of the very few Traci Thirteen fans, I find it disturbing that she's suddenly not Asian-American anymore. Plus, I thought her father died. I was like "wtf?" when I read it. Just like it.

Dr 13 didn't believe he was dead so returned to life. Yup.

I've been enjoying Derec Donovan's more Asianesque take on Connor's facial features in Demon's Blood. Maybe we'll only have to wait through about 10 years of Traci Thirteen stories before we get another artist who realizes that she's meant to be Asian-American, too.

Who am I kidding? We're never going to get 10 years of Traci Thirteen stories.

Spectre rocks ass. I loved Lapham's Detective Comics story and I've been meaning to pick up his Stray Bullets trades.
