Anyone still here from the good ol' days?

Well, you date back quite a while...
Were you here back when all these people were ?
OriginalMiles
slumcat
LordofhouseEl
degraves
Dark Sentinel
Doomsday Apex
Godzilla2000
Godzilla
TheManOfBat
Paladin
JJJ`s Ulcer
LordofHouseofEl
Feenix
Rowsdowzer!

JJJ's Ulcer was a big loss to this forum.

Dayum has it really been 12 years already?

I'm tempted to dig up the thread where the old school Fox bots would player hate on my hope for all Marvel characters to unite.

Anyway, nice to see everyone still here.

I wonder if some of them had passed away...we'll never know.

That is unsettling.

I think we may be have interacted some back then. I was real active on the Bat Boards and Spidey boards from 06-08. I've started to taper off lately just due to life tending to take precedent and being busy. Also you start to see variations of the same arguments get cycled through on here a lot, and you start to lose interest in participating. But there's still some good convos to be had.

i recall at least 2 members who have passed away, Vartha and another guy, i believe his username was Venom something

I remember signing up here right after X2 released. I spend most of my time of reddit now. These boards moved a little too slow and became over-moderated at a certain point in time (I think when Crave started taking over) that I just sort of faded away from the community.

It's difficult for me to believe that I've been here for 13 years. It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was clashing with D.O.T. (Defenders of Topher :whatever:) prior to Spider-man 3 hitting the silver screen.

I often wonder about Hype members from days gone by. Did Ghostrider87 ever go to Colombia?

Did Ice-man follow his dream of going to California, and open a surf shop?

Did Ronny Shade ever go fully Asian?

I did a search for 'Banned on Superherohype' and found pages of old stuff from the site, referring to

Godzilla2000
Godzilla
Paladin

Woah. Anyone have the cliffs notes on these 3? Had no idea they got banned.

Does anyone remember me?

Wow, that really brings back some vivid memories, I was really young, I was hardly even a teenager back then, I had a lot of fun and interesting experiences internet message boards and somehow strangely miss those days. I had really bad vocabulary and could not spell that well, I was not even attending school at the time for complicated and dramatic reasons. I remember a lot of the posters I liked migrated to the Le Soft Parade forum that was made, I remember Barbara Gordon talking to me on Webcam and vice versa. it feels a little crazy to think how long those users stayed active it was for quite some time where as I did a lot of different things through those years and have continued to really change and evolve.

Wow the forum is way different I guess, there's not as much singular discussion it's all kind of conglomerated into big single topic threads, kind of like how most businesses are run these days as well.

It has been quite the trepidatious and strange journey for me, I started out posting primarily on the EGM gaming board message board most often under the username "CrazyOldMan" due to lacking anyone to really adequately socialize with, and then came here after all the early influx of superhero films that had made me so ecstatic and excited due to my long going love of comic books and I was probably around 12 years old in the early 2000s when I started posting. I remember I choose the name "Hades" randomly just because I thought it sounded cool and was somewhat original. I guess I never really posted that much due to being at a loss often as to what to say and spent most of my time lurking. I wasn't very good at socializing and did not really know how to communicate very well and thus I mostly just complained quite often as a result. I actually was able to meet in real life one of the posters on the EGM forum that I frequented who went by the username "Balohna" I remember the EGM forum was really fun, you could make your own message board, and there was "Bubbleman's forum" which was full of all these weird troll guys who were kind of giant creepy nerds. There was one poster who had the username "BrokenGlass" there was also a board called "no life losers" which was also quite hilarious in it's own right.

I mostly remember Babs Gordon, Wilhelm Scream, Calvin, Jaguar and a few others, they stick out in my mind the most.

i remember you Hades, welcome back

come May will be 15 years for me on here
their may have been some times over those years that I was less active in my postings, but always checked in from time to time... been though some good times and bad on here

Seeing a lot of these names brings back a lot of memories. There's a Hypesters group on Facebook that a lot of people I used to see post a lot (I was active here when I was in high school and college), which sort of helps with the nostalgia a bit.

Yup, I’m there too.

The sheer nostalgia of this thread :')

I joined around when X3 was in production, amid the post-X2 anticipation (then the subsequent crushing disappointment), and eventually expanded out of those sub-forums. I remember the Survivor games. Those were damn intense, though veterans like ComicChick and Erzengel made it look stupidly easy. Great seeing some familiar faces still active too, e.g. Iceman, Hunter Rider, squeekness. Nowadays lurking over at Reddit, but been more active on Bookstagram and, to a lesser extent, Goodreads. Whatta time capsule, this place. I'll have to try dropping by more often.

Don't even know why I decided to play, as it was hell on my social anxiety. But still fun times too, looking back on them :funny:
