Every day when I walk to my office downtown you can always spot the tourists that are visiting....usually with their necks craned to the sky looking at those tall buildings, brandishing fanny packs or walking in a group of 5 of more close together babbling and wearing summer gear(you live or work downtown Chicago you NEVER walk with more than three people and you always have some buffer space between you). I think to myself, they're just asking to be mugged or scammed by one of these bums or something. :o

Everytime I'm visiting another city, I always try to look like I'm not a tourist.

Eyes to the ground, fast pace and a scowl.

I grew up in Santa Cruz and you can see Monterey across the bay. When it's a little foggy (which is quite often), it looks disconnected like an island. Every single person in my family has, multiple times, overheard tourists say, "Look! It's Hawaii!!"

:whatever:

If I go to a big city, I walk around with people dressed like the family in the opening scene of Batman '89, hoping to get mugged and subsequently, saved by Michael Keaton. :o

I don't wear a fanny pack. :cmad:
I had some woman in a elevator ask me if I was a tourist in my own back yard. :cmad:  :csad: I think I was dressed to go skateboarding or something.

lol
