It's easily the best choreography work YWP has done in years.
It's at least as good as Fist of Legend, Drunken Master or Iron Monkey, if not BETTER.

thanx for the suggestion. could you suggest some good herb too? cuz you GOT to be high to think these fight scenes are better than Fist of Legend, Drunken Master, and Crouching Tiger, hehe.

most of Jackie Chan's Hong Kong stuff is better than this....i found those 2 fight scenes from youtube to be pretty average. not bad but not GREAT either. thanx anyway though...

You really have to watch the entire movie.

The last fight against Billy Chow's character is AMAZING.
And there are so many amazing fights, with lots of different styles (drunken, ninjitsu, weapons of every kind, 2 different styles of tai chi)

It just sucks that youtube only had those 2

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon only had 3 good fights, and were nowhere near the level of YWP's best stuff (Zhang Zi Yi was extensively doubled, and I really don't mind doubling, it's just that it was so obvious) plus Chow Yun Fat, as cool as he is, CANNOT handle martial art scenes, or a sword for that matter.

Maybe they're not better, but IMO they are as good as anything in Fist of Legend or Iron Monkey (non-wired parts).

Don't get me wrong, I love those (ITLD4 and Tiger Cage 2 as well), it's just amazing that they could accomplish that kind of quality for a TV series (if you know chinese martial arts series, you'll know that most of the fights in them are incredibly undercranked, consist of mainly arm flailing and spinning, and lack any real martial arts choreography)

But to each his own

Yeah I dont have HBO so there goes another 30 bucks on August 8 when Season 5 comes out. I hear its worth it though...

IMO, that is THE best old school YWP choreography work. Yes, even a bit better than Drunk Mantis and Buddhist Fist.

The mixup of Japanese and Chinese styles is EXCELLENT. Fights are not too long, and exciting all the way to the end, I love it.

I have a crpapy VHS, and I certainly need the DVD.
