Not dentists as a whole, but one in particular, when I was little my dentist was a sadist that enjoyed poking and prodding my teeth and gums with sharp steel picks until blood flowed like a river, savored drilling into my teeth extra deep to fill cavities that weren't there. Fast forward to a few years ago when my new dentist (a real stand up fella) informed me that there were only about 5% of my actual teeth left. The decision was made to remove them all and have implants installed. The surgeon took out every last fragment and even wisdom teeth I didn't know were still there in one painful morning. That's one entire week I can't remember I was on so much Oxy.

Afraid of the Dentist? Hah, my dentist is afraid of me!

Have had a lot of work done over the years. The dentist does not scare me. Just the bill. :rimshot:

I wish someone would make a movie where Dracula has to visit the dentist and have some work done on his teeth. And he won't be able to just bite the dentist because he'll continue to suffer with toothache otherwise. Maybe he could even get braces because his mouth becomes overcrowded and someone needs to make a mould of his teeth.

Yes. Clive Barker almost died after visiting the dentist. I received some kind of nasty plague after visiting the dentist that took a lifetime to shake.

Teeth aren’t really bones. They have enamel and dentin which aren’t found in normal cortical bone. They are closely associated with bone obviously (tooth socket bone in association with mandible) but teeth themselves are different. Also teeth don’t have marrow spaces which bone has (production of hematopoetic elements)

Anyone remember Marathon Man?

How about Ed Norton's trip to the dentist? See what happened to him while in the dentist's chair:
