Arizona Voter Suppression

isn't that where Hilary's supporters are "supposedly" doing shady stuff against Bernie?

Yes. Actively. (or as actively as I can with no major new stations covering it.) There was a hearing at the court house today in Phoenix and in Tucson. Getting pretty aggressive from what I can hear because they ran out of time and not everyone was given a chance to speak. My brother is there right now. I'm personally invested.

Here's a couple vids for people who are curious:

Here's a pretty decent recap of all the testimonies:

CBS chopper was apparently sent in a couple hours ago. Haven't heard anything much from CBS yet though. And I'm getting most of my news off of reddit. Pretty much the only reliable source these days. https://www.reddit.com/r/SandersFor...e/arizona_election_fraud_hearing_mega_thread/

Yeah, I'm watching a few videos about it right now and find it to be extremely infuriating. I was going to begrudgingly vote for Clinton before this happened, but because I cannot trust that her camp didn't take part in this, I can't support her. The panel at the Arizona hearing was so dismissive and rude to the audience.

In all fairness the panel was largely republican. But you're right call me a monkeys uncle if Hillary's hands are clean on this one.

I highly doubt that any actual suppression happened. This is just a bunch of Bernie Bros who can't accept that Bernie has no shot of winning at this point and the race ended in Nevada. They think the system is against him when the reality is that Hillary is winning fair and square.

Is this about the closing of the voting stations? Because if so, it is was clearly an attempt to suppress the vote.

Oh my god you're such a tool. We get it, you're a republican. No need to keep cramming it down our throat. You sound so ill-informed when you say this. The question at this point isn't even "whether voter suppression happened" but how and to what end?

Why on earth would they have dropped the number of polling places in Maricopa so drastically?
400 in 2008
200 in 2012 (when Obama ran unopposed)
60 in 2016

I hesitate to say it myself, but this has nothing to do with Bernie Sanders. Do you honestly agree that its the people in line who are to blame for waiting 5 hours to vote?

Same problem happened in Utah. So the same investigation should be happening there and probably nationwide.

Weird thing is if you look were the voting problems happened it seemed like in Clinton friendly places

It has nothing to do with my political affiliation, it all comes down to the simple fact that it makes no sense that the Clinton campaign would be engaged in voter suppression when they are winning and they are winning without dirty tricks to begin with, it happened in Hillary friendly territory, not Bernie friendly territory, and polls showed her leading Arizona by a large margin to begin with. If you just ask the simple question of why would they do that, you would see that it makes no sense when there is no need to do something in which they would easily get caught doing and is illegal. Hillary Clinton is not an idiot.

The drop in polling places has more to do with GOP voter suppression efforts and ineptitude of the state Democratic Party and local officials. Plain and simple. It really sucks for the people who wanted to vote, but it isn't some elaborate scheme designed to take down Bernie Sanders. And it really isn't a smart scheme either, considering that most of the voters affected by this were most likely Hillary supporters.

So who's the ill-informed tool here?

Ya, I really doubt Hillary's campaign had anything to do with this directly, but it definitely was a function of the GOP efforts to suppress voting that would help them in the general election, but also ended up affecting the primaries as a side effect.

I just think it was a case of bad organizing by the people who take care of the polls with no bad intent.

If they had bad intent they probably would have targeted Bernie friendly polling places and more likely they would have pulled this in the general election as opposed to the primary. All this lack of polling places does is puts a spotlight on the State when it comes to November(and there is a chance Arizona might turn into a swing state if Trump or Cruz become the Republican nominee)

Exactly. It is a GOP initiative to suppress voter turnout in highly Democratic areas. Clinton had nothing to do with it. It only hurts her, along with any other Democrat.

You have got to be kidding me. You just agreed its GOP voter suppression efforts. We are on the exact same page. Nothing to argue about.

I think he's speaking to the fact that some bernie supporters are blaming Hillary's campaign for the suppression. Although I really haven't seen that too much, it's just been an overall disgust at the system at large that has been suppressing voting opportunities.

The most disturbing thing were the people SWITCHED from Democrats to Independents. That is absurd.

This was discussed in the Bernie thread...

The words fair and Clinton are seldom used in the same sentence.

Hillary is winning because an under educated group and poorer group fail to understand that Sanders's politics would make their lives better.

Clinton is fooling half of her voting base. She's more of a Republican theses days, voting for war and being deeply backed by Wall Street the big banks and oil producing nations. In fact, the Clintons have more money than Romney.

Don't tell that to the top 1% folks that! And don't you dare point out that if you took away the Confederacy states, the race would be very close.

You'll understand my confusion.

The polls have been very wrong about Sanders this year. i think you are underestimating his support in Arizona. The voters affected by this were Sanders supporters, considering he is extremely popular amongst independents, whose votes wouldn't be counted.

Arizona was always a closed primary, so independents wouldn't have a vote anyways regardless of if there were 60 polling places open or 60000.

Yes, and people we being switched from Democrat to Independent. Also, the low amount of polling places strategically picked so certain counties would have an impossible time hasn't always been there.
