Art for Bruce is WAY Better this Season

The primary thing I noticed during today's premerie is that Bruce no longer has an odd shaped head, but looks better in terms of the shape is his cheek bones. The Batman also looks a little more buff over all, especially in the face. It looks like they've tried to make Bruce more like an adult figure rather than a young adult.

What does everyone else think?

Yeah, I definitely saw more DCAU Bats, espcially the new jaw and wider shoulders/arms.

I knew I wasn't the only one to catch the change.

^^ yeah I think so. Anyway as batman it doesn't change so much to me but as Bruce wayne, that's neat! I think the new Bruce Wayne rocks.

batman is definitely more stocky in this season...

perhaps there is a a certain amount of time that has passed between this one and the last (about a year) that simply hasn't been covered.

Yeah, Batman looks better this season.they are slowly turning this show around for me i skipped last season,but i will be watch this season.

The weird cheekbone/eye thing in 3/4 views is gone now too. I think that was a very Matsuda design trait and is just looked very weird. Now it looks right.

Agree, the weird pointy cheekbone/eye thing drove me nuts -- I thought it was the worst drawing of the entire series when they drew him like that

I disagree. The preview version had a less squared-off look, a more realistic mouth (the new-look Bruce's mouth is unchanged), and most importantly a second layer of shading that added depth to the face.

The new Bruce doesn't look much like that at all - allthough Batman does have smaller eyes now like the preview version.

But I do agree that it's a good look... allthough something closer to the preview version in style would have been nice. The new look is slightly closer to the JL/Timm style, and while it looks better, in a way it makes it less original, to make it look like something we've seen before. The ultra-clean, squared-off thing... we've seen it for the last 10 years, you know? Would have been nice to go in another direction all together (i.e. the preview version... or maybe something like a more realistic version of the original BTAS designes before Timm squared everything off) rather than bringing it closer to what's come before, though I'm not really complaining because it is an improvement.

I've said it before... I'd have rather had a different "Young Batman" show that went back in time and filled in the gap (10 years or so! It's a wealth of unnacounted history for the DCAU version of the character) between Mask of the Phantasm's flashback scenes and "On Leather Wings", one that too the designs back top the original BTAS look but tweaked them a bit or made them more realistic, and made the whole show more realistic, toned-down, low-key and adult as well. Alas, taht'll never be.

Weirdly (or perhaps not since they've always looked similar), the new Bruce on The Batman design would probably make a great Supes design too, if it had a different hairdo.

Bleh... I found that preview look really unnapealing. It may have been detailed, but it was ugly.
