Arturo Gotti is dead

Gods taking alot of people this year.

RIP to the human highlight reel. :csad:

His fights were something else.

So, if the reports are true about his wife and everything...I really don't think that your husband pushing you means its OK to strangle him in his sleep with your purse strap. That's just me though.

ESPN is reporting that the wife has been taken into custody and will be charged with murder....maybe it was more, maybe he was smacking her arorund a lot....ever see The Burning Bed??

He has had a history of doing that.

Still no excuse for her killing him though.

Im not so sure about that...I have little sympathy for woman beaters or anyone who abuses someone they claim to "love"

I'm with you on that.

The guy was a pretty talented boxer but when it comes to a repeated domestic violence offender I could care less if they are alive or dead.

Well, if there is a history of abuse then she probably snapped. Still, she wasn't dead, and now he is.

And now in a flash, a 10 month old baby has lost its father, can could lose its mother as well if she did it.

I am aware of battered woman sydrome. If the investigation unearths constant physical abuse from Arturro, then that will probably be her only defense. But murder is murder, and she now faces even more difficulty. But still, we don't know details.

Fair enough.

I wonder if Amanda is a Canadian citizen. If so, what might be interesting is that in Canada, BWS is a fairly established potential defense to murder and manslaughter, whereas in Brazil, it might not be (I'm just guessing though). If she is prosecuted in Brazil, I'd be interested over the debate over her being convicted of a crime committed abroad that might not have been a conviction in Canada.

I think she's American, or at least an American resident. He met her in Atlantic City.

While I don't endorse spousal abuse, murder is much worse.

Do any of you have any credible, concrete sources proving that Gatti was a wife beater? I'm talking police reports and the like. Not hearsay or assumptions.

Yeah there's been police reports and such that he did beat up on old girlfriends.

I was a little upset when I heard this. I saw a few of his fights before but I didn't really follow his career or anything. You can say I was a casual fan of his.
