I figure we could talk about the audience reaction to the film since there's no thread for it yet.

- During the Thursday night show, the woman sitting next to me gasped out loud when Diana produced the shock wave with her bracelets the first time.
- The Thursday night audience really laughed at Steve Trevor's antics, especially the awkward boat scene. During the Saturday night show, some scattered titters from women when Chris Pine climbed out of the bath.
- Heard some scattered sniffling during the ending at tonight's 5:15 show.
- Enthusiastic clapping at the start of the end credits on both shows.

Anyone have any audience members who really got into the film?

Everyone laughed at 8 year old Diana.

No Man's Land was amazing for everyone.

Dude next to me was a 60ish year old man who wiped away a tear during the ending.

And yeah, there was definite applause during No Man's Land. Though not as much as I would have liked. Standard applause during the end credits, too.

My first viewing, the audience was on the tepid side but there were many laughs throughout the film and lots of sniffling at the end.

My Thursday night audience was so hype. They laughed at Steve and Diana's scene on the boat, laughed at Diana's fish out of water scenes in London, cheered loudly when Diana climbed out of the trench, cheered when she jumped into the tower, and they clapped when the movie ended. It was a fun show.

I heard some sobbing behind me at the end of the movie.

I was at a Friday matinee show so the crowd was smaller and more tepid than it would've been if I'd been able to see it opening night, but they laughed at several of the jokes, there were a couple people who clapped at the "No Man's Land" scene and a smattering of applause at the end of the film. As I mentioned in another thread, we were polled by CinemaScore on the way out, and I heard several of the other people standing around completing their poll cards talking about how much they liked it.

I saw it with a small crowd on Thursday and they reacted really well, they laughed a lot.

Saw it with a bigger audience today, they laughed a lot as well. There were plenty of people gasping at some bits and a bunch of girls going "my nails would be ruined" after Diana makes her leap.

They responded well at my screening. It wasnt packed, but they laughed and cheered at the right times, and overall produced a really good vibe.

People in my theater cheered when WW flipped the tank in the fight at small town and again when the tower hiding the sniper with a machine-gun was demolished.

I went to a Friday afternoon showing. I typically try to avoid the crowds. This was a movie were I wish I had seen it with a larger audience (the theater was less than 50% full), as a lot of the jokes were met with silence making them feel awkward or even "bad", there were no gasps of fear/excitement, etc, which actually impacted my own enjoyment, which never happens. I enjoyed the movie a lot, but it was a rare time where I think a full theater would have made it better for me.

I saw it in China today, during the day.

People seemed to be digging it a lot at the start. The jokes all landed. The girls beside me were smitten by Gadot's innocence and Pine's...shirtlessness.

But a lot of phones started coming out around the second act, and there was an awkward audible yawn. Some of the more nuanced charm of the film didn't seem to get across that well.

People got a kick out of the Wanda and Tencent logos at the start though. Not sure if those showed in the US screenings.

I live in Australia. Australians never clap at the end of movies.

But they clapped for Wonder Woman :')

Some laughs and gasps, throughout the movie. Etta Candy seemed to get some good responses. Could hear some thrilled comments when she destroyed the sniper tower and laughter when she was carrying the sword and shield through the revolving door. My girlfriend (who wasn't really a fan, before) absolutely loved it.

These moments got either a laugh or a big response from the audience I saw it with on Friday:

Diana's line that men are necessary for procreation, but not pleasure (a largely female audience, mind you, so naturally)
The first time "Is She With You" kicks in
Most of the "No Man's Land" scene, but specifically Diana picking up and chucking that tank got a big cheer from the crowd- I specifically remember hearing some woman a few seats down from me cheer "YES!"
Diana telling Steve that she's the man for the job
Robin Wright's three-arrow trick
The sword and the revolving door
Diana jumping into and pretty much leveling that tower to get at the sniper

Trailers trailers trailers!!!!

All the Etta Candy jokes and other jokes on trailers no one laughed because everyone already heard it in the trailers.

Same thing will happen in JL when Flash asks Bruce his powers...then he says I'm rich....well no one will laugh at that also because they already laughed months ago.

There were some good reactions in the audience but like trailers pretty much spoiled most.

Like the jokes in Spider-Man and Thor trailers....I can see the audience will not laugh when it comes out too because trailers today are everywhere.

A decade ago was different when most audience doesn't have quick access to trailers.

I was saying before, if Gal Gadot was kept a secret before BVS, then her REVEAL in BVS would have been the most epic thing in superhero movies and would made that movie a lot better to the people who hated it.

It would have been a million times better than the Robin reveal in Dark Knight Rises.

The 6th Sense would have been Rotten in Rotten Tomatoes if the trailer show Bruce Willis was one of the dead people that the boy can see.

If Gal Gadot was just promoted as a mysterious thief in BVS and kept the WW movie a secret, believe me people would see BVS in a different light once WW is revealed.

A woman sat next to me was laughing at all the right parts and even cracked a joke or two, which was actually funny and really helped my enjoyment of the film. She did cry towards the end too.

The audience as a whole were into it though but one kid was slurping his drink very loudly at the start of the film which was annoying.

The Justice League and Spider-Man Homecoming trailers got a good reaction too.

Same for my first viewing on Thursday evening.
I thought the audience would have been a bit more enthusiastic.
There was clapping at the very end, though, as the credits began to roll.

I think they're very aware of the mistakes they made with the BvS trailers. I do think that it's good they leant that there lesson because they could have made a mistake later down the line with another film. But I totally agree with you and wish that moment had been kept secret. Could you have imagined how mental people would have gone.

You got Homecoming AND Justice League?! The JL trailer's actually in theaters?

Aw heck, my theater skimped out on us, then. Most action or geek related trailer we got was that Transformers trailer! And I do agree on the lessons learned about trailers. My hope is that lesson remains learned as far as Superman in Justice League.

Went with my wife and brother-in-law. They both loved the film. I asked my wife what she thinks of Gal. She said one word: "fierce." Going into my second viewing today. First viewing the entire audience let out hard laugh's at basically every moment with Steve Trevor, so the humor landed in all the right spots that I noticed. Scattered snickers were heard throughout Gal's entire performance, even when the humor wasn't supposed to be at the forefront. Diana's naive' personality in nature was met with ongoing snickers. Steve and Etta Candy covering up her up and their reactions to Diana when she first arrives when she wanted to reveal herself with the skirt underneath was a good laugh out loud moment and the whole "TO THE WAR" lines of dialogue were hits.

An enthusiastic crowd, but no claps at the end. Heard a girl in the back corner say "I feel like I want to clap or something". A good overall vibe. We'll see what an afternoon Sunday crowd brings soon.

Oh cool. I always wondered about that. Have you been polled by them before? Is it a regular thing for US cinemagoers?

That was all we got, it was all adverts and just those two trailers. I was loving it never saw any of the MOS (bar the reader) or BvS trailers in the cinema.

I think MCU should look at doing similar with there's tbh cause I feel like that Spider-Man trailer gives away the whole movie.

Speaking of audiences, did any of your theaters have folks who sat through the credits? Or at least after the first part of the credits started? I mean, even though folks like us who follow news on films like this knew there wouldn't be a post-credits scene, I'm sure there were a lot of people who expected one.

I mean, I left because I knew, but saw a lot of folks sitting tight after the Wonder Woman title card appeared.
