Ok guys, come on...
"Avengers: The Initiative" would make an AWESOME Television series. You've got superhero action, military intrigue, college-level drama and a premise like no other. The series starts with some tragedy, Stamford or something much like it, and the Government instantlly calls for registration of all these different abilities, mutant or otherwise.
You get all this mish mosh of kids from all over, most fresh out of high school with a jaded teen superhero or two thrown in for good measure. Take characters right from the comic-- throw in varying levels of tough loves from their supervisors.
Gauntlet: Dennis Haysbert. Dear goodness yes.
MVP: (Tom Welling?)
Cloud 9: (Kristen Bell?)
Armory: Kelly Vitz
Hardball: Shawn or Aaron Ashmore
Komodo: ... hard one.
Trauma: Kyle Gallner
Yellowjacket: (Hank Pym lovers should do this one)
Justice: (Also not sure)
War Machine: All suit and robovoice... guest Terrance Howard ONE time.
Straddle 616 and the real world... keep the supermax prison and some of the supervillain threats, but I'm not above sending the kids to Iraq and intertwining terrorism with Hyrda's goals (hey, "24" does it, why not?). Perhaps the Civil War storyline can be rolled into the first or second season of "The Initiative," and, y'know... make things happen. That's what I'd do.
Comments? Suggestions? *****ing?
