I tried to do a "Guardians of the Globe" style re-imagine. how do they stand?

what did you think of my versions of them. Like I said it's kind of my squadron supreme/Guardians of the Globe re tooling of the West Coast Avengers.

Here in Florida i would definitely want Storm with her weather controlling abiilities here in huricane territory. Namor would never work for the iniitiative but if i could choose, i would want him here as well.

It's so embarrassing how they stereotyped the heroes for the Texas team.:o They only needed to do a crossover with the Final Fantasy games and stick a Cactuar on the team to make the whole "Wild West/Cowboy motif" thing even more obvious. They should recruit a Kymellian or one of the High Evolutionary's Man-Beasts evolved from a horse also.
Yeah, I thought the same thing at first, but the more I think about it, it doesn't seem as bad. Phantom Rider might be interesting. Plus, I think that Dan Slott will do his best to look beyond the steroetypes. Hopefully they will eventually incorporate Vegas, another chatacter from Texas that appeared a couple of years ago in Amazing Fantasy.

For Massachusetts, my home state, I would probably revamp a Cap sidekick like Nomad or Jack Flag to stay with the whole UMass Minutemen and NE Patriots motif. Maybe a character based on the UMass Lowell mascot, Riverhawks. Other than that Massachusetts is pretty vanilla. The only major characteristics we have are bad drivers and good drinkers. Maybe a shark humanoid (Jaws reference).

I believe that captain redneck and moose boy guard Maine and New Hampshire with help from Lobster Lad. While the rainbow avanger and maple girl protect Vermont.

LOL, thats what I love about New England, the further north you get, the further "south" you get.

^^ I dont think they even have electricity on the northern coast of Maine :P

^^^Yeah, that horse is about dead.

Anyway, I asked this in the other 50 state forum. do you think they will actually assign 50 different teams.

The Initiative

It reminded me of the X-men more than the X-men have reminded me in days. Aside from the Drill Sergeant, this is pretty much classic X-men plot. Some superpowered folk are found, they fight in the danger room, they interact in an occasionally sexual manner, and they are menaced by Peter Ghyrich's less than noble ways. It's interesting to note that the nature of "mutants" apparently doesn't need to be born with it to work. There's a nice moment when you also realize that the Initiative is going to do jack in order to help people and Vance Astro's career as the Initiative's leader is going to collapse soon. No matter how hard he tries, he can't spit on the New Warriors as the Devil that's required of working here.

Bravo.

10/10

I was watching Miami Vice and Scar Face recently and it got me thinking about the drug trade in America's coastal cities and the Carribean so heres a idea I had for a superhero team that would in effect be a special unit to the DEA and yeah i'm using the name.....

FORCE-WORKS

Roster:

Paladin - Team leader

Solo - Recon

Barracuda - Inside man

Kasper Cole a.k.a White Tiger II - Agent

Echo - Agent

Diamondback - Agent

Crippler - Agent

Premise:

Basically it's 'Miami-Vice' with superpowers with a hint of 'ScarFace'. I figured since the 50 state initiative is in full effect, maybe it would eventually bleed into other government agencies like the DEA or Coast Guard. I'd play around with the fact that MGH (Mutant Growth Hormone) since the 'House of M'/'Decimation' event, its price has gone up as dramatically as it's demand.

So now the MGH drug trade is becoming a major problem for the U.S. like meth and guys like Tombstone, Hypno Hustler, Count Nefaria and the Maggia have moved into the MGH business, and it's something regular Anti-Drug taskforces can't handle. They aren't used to dealing with drug smugglers who shoot lasers from there hands, fly, or swim like a shark underwater. What can you do?

You fight fire with fire! Not only that you band together some mean mutha f--kas with superpowers, you give them guns! Big Guns! and Adamantium tipped bullets! I'd most likely place it in the 'MAX Comics' line with the Punisher, but it would definately be in continuity.

Anybody got any suggestions?

The Objectors

not every young hero wants to be in the initiative. When Liberty (I've told you about her in AHWYDIT) refuses to bow down, she is rescued last minute by Dusk, and taken to the Refuge. an undisclosed location housing a large number of unregistered super-people, including Dusk, Monstro, Mastermind Excello, and Jack Power.

Revised idea

FORCE-WORKS

Roster:

Paladin - Team leader (by default) and yes he's getting paid big dollars to run this unit, unfortunately everyone hates his guts.

Solo - Since Civil War Solo has signed the SHRA and is now the team recon man, he spends the most time alone doing recon and for that reason the hardest guy for Paladin to control.

Echo - Forced to sign the SHRA, but chose this assignment. Echo is deep undercover her specialty.

Kasper Cole a.k.a White Tiger II - This isn't exactly the promotion he was hoping for, but it pays the bills and shut his girlfriend and mama up, Kasper work undercover with Echo.

StingRay - Chosen for this assignment for his underwater expertise, Ray works the docks and coastline and offers technical guidance.

Crippler - If you don't remember this dirtbag, look him up online (Wiki) this former member of Silver Sable's Six Pack was loaned out to the team from the T-Bolts. He's the guy who does the dirty work and he enjoys it.

Diamondback - Undercover and intel, aside from Paladin she has the most expeirence in undercover work and espionage.

Battlestar - The muscle plain and simple, but he has much more to offer and is steadly becoming the guy who could compete with Paladin for leadership of the team.

Premise:

The idea came to me when I was watching 'Miami-Vice' and 'Scarface' recently, and I had this notion for a superhero team located in Miami and with the '50 State: Initiative' being a reality in the Marvel U now, I figured at some point the 'Super Hero Registration Act' would bleed into other government agencies. Basically this team is an extension of sorts to the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency).

The basic premise is that MGH(Mutant Growth Hormone) is in high demand in America now and is seeping into the Marvel U like Meth is in ours. A lot of the villians of the MU have scattered to the four winds, but a few have went underground and gotten better organized and a key few baddies have gotten into the drug game (Smuggling and distribution.)

Imagine your a regular DEA agent and your used to some sick and depraved scum, but for the most part their average flatscan humans. Now imagine your job requires you to bring to justice a 'drug mule' who can fly, swim like a torpedo under water or has ungodly superstrength. How can a normal force of DEA agents over come such a situation? You fight fire with fire! S.H.I.E.L.D has authorized a special unit of operatives to aid the Miami and greater south eastern American coastal area. This force, this Force-Works!

Key figures, villians and the playing field:

*Gravestone Posse:
Old Spider-man villian 'Tombstone' has made his way to the carribean and has been by mysterious benefactors setup as the leader and primary distributer of MGH in the south/east coastal Americas. He runs the Gravestone Posse with an ironfist, and has accrued a crew of familiar villians.

Barracuda(Punisher baddie and now Tombstone's enforcer, he is severly addicted to MGH which gives him superstrength and amphibious breathing.)

Hypno Hustler(He now goes by the name Hypnotize and runs a Gravestone Posse business front, a nightclub called 'Liquid Ice' he's Tomdstones second in command and lords over the sales of MGH in the Miami area.)

The rest of the Posse consists of Slyde, Gibbon, Shocker and other C&D listers.

*The Ockers:

Another fan favorite the 'Kangaroo' whos had an old beef with Tombstone in the past, has gather a motley crew of nutjobs in a biker gang called the Ockers which is the Australian word equivalent of Redneck, Kangaroo has setup shop in Tampa and frequents Miami to cause trouble for Tombstone and compete for distribution of MGH in the area. Kangaroo is affiliated with Hydra and gets his supply from them.

*The Deepthrows:

This mysterious faction of drug smugglers are Atlantean in origin, but have no direct connection to Namor. I would keep these guys in the background for a while most likely would create new villians in this role.

The Big Reveal!:

One of the main secrets I would play with is who's supplying Tombstone? The reveal would be Count Nefaria who has re-organized the Maggia and is the true threat to FORCE-WORKS and by extention Florida and eventually the rest of the U.S.A.

The team would also have to deal with Namor and Atlantis and all the legal quagmire the is involved when dealing with Atlantean criminals such as the Deepthrows gang.

The other key plot point would be that Count Nefaria's source for the MGH would be Curt Connors the Lizard, Connors has been kidnapped by the Maggia for well over 6 months and has been forced to create MGH from his own DNA and the Owl is working with Hydra to produce MGH which in turn is Kangaroo's source.
