The old band director at my school preached DCI. We must have watched at least one of their performances a week in perc. ensemble. He'd never shut up about them. He even had a recording of theirs as his ringtone.

He was hell bent on getting our drumline to sound half as decent as those guys. Boy did he run their asses ragged. The rest of the band got to sit inside in the air conditioning while they were outside slaving away in the sun. But hey, as a result, our band has by far the most complicated percussion charts out of any other high school marching band that I've ever heard.


But yeah, DCI is insane.
