Banner Ads causing SHH page load issues again?

For the past few days I've been having a ton of issues on the forums here getting pages to load. Seems like that whenever the banner ad at the top of the page is the one of the ones for Pizza Hut, Wear It, or TimetoTalk.org, only the ad loads and not the message board page itself.

I'm using IE 8.0 (at work so dont give me the Firefox lecture)

Anyone else having issues with this?

I don't think the a bad ad should stop the loading of pages. Like the SHH page should load up separately while the ad is slowly chugging away (theoretically - it's a external host). Apparently the forums has been laggy, and the people complaining have Firefox and Adblock Plus. I say that because I haven't been on long enough to see these stretches of lag.

The current McDonalds ad with Franz Ferdinand is annoying the crap out of me right now.

If you accidentally roll over it, it starts playing a music video of theirs and all of the buttons used for posting a message on the page disappear until you close the ad.

me too and half the time i am no where near the ad and it rolls down and starts playing.

You guys *have* to post screenshots if you want us to look into these kind of issues. Many ads are targeted to specific regions, meaning we (the SHH staff) can't always see them.

Here's some screenshots.

The McDonalds ad appears on every page, at the top AND the bottom. You accidentally roll-over the add and it expands to a huge size and as you can see from my last picture it makes it impossible to reply or post at all as long as the ad is expanded. The text boxes and buttons just disappear.

These same ads are causing this to happen again.

I get this happening as well, I click on a thread and it looks like what Geo posted.

It’s been happening pretty frequent.

I have had the pink one Geo posted screw the hype up for me & now I have an ad with a cat & the text wear it messing things up & you know what I bet it is the ad's killing the Hype & not long lasting threads

We have discovered which third-party ad network is serving these ads. They're not harmful but they're definitely not coded right. They should have halted them until they fix them.

A new issue. This banner eliminates the top section of the forum whenever it appears.
