"Bat-Fan Begins" a "fan-film" about the fans.

Hey folks, I'm new here.

So I made a movie entitled "Bat-Fan Begins" a while back that deals with the obession of some Batman fans...and then multiplying it a few times.

I'm putting it out here on the board because I'd like to get some actual Bat-Fans to check it out. The title is somewhat misleading....I've been told that a lot thought that the movie was going to be a goofy/no effort put into it affair since "Bat-Fan" was in the title...I guess it's a fairly cliche title?

It's in three parts. Here's the first part:

Hope you enjoy it.

That was awesome. 5-stars all around. So what happens next. What does Ryan do when he finally sees Dark Knight. Does he even make it that far?

I'm writing a sequel that starts when the third theatrical trailer was released (like how Bat-Fan Begins started with the release of the second trailer) so there are still some months left for Ryan to enact his grand plan.

Thanks for checking it out!

I watched the videos, and I loved them. I wasn't quite sure whether I should laugh or be scared. I was a little confused, though. The guy that brought the makeup appears to be killed and then lies like a dead fish in the bathtub, only to end up being a henchman. So if he wasn't killed at that time, why was he just lying in the tub? Seems like a cheap trick.

But overall very enjoyable.

Excellent! I wanna see what happens next.

Well Ryan was obviously lying about murdering Beau (the guy who ends up being a Goon) so one can pretty much assume everything he told Shane (and appeared as flashbacks) is a lie. Like the Joker, he's just trying to inject a little theatricality into the situation.
Thanks for watching!

I like it, great work the music certainly fitted the scenes. :batty:

I watched this and I think it´s awesome. It reminded me the film "Wes Craven New Nightmare". Pretty cool, and the ending was sweet. I noticed some comic nods, like the Killing Joke one when he rises his hand on a reflection. You must be proud of your work.

I wish I could say that the match cut was indeed a reference to the Killing Joke but unfortunately that was just the first match cut option that came to mind while writing the movie. Thanks though!

Shss... they don´t know.:woot:

But still, great movie. Also I can sense a resemblance to the first Joker picture from the last part of your movie.

Ryan-Joker's video message lighting scheme was most definitely inspired by the first picture released of Heath Ledger in makeup.

Bump.

Oh? So will the sequel cover the massive internet meltdown that occurred when fans didn't get the trailer, but people on the streets did get to see it?

Dude that was a sick movie and I can't wait to see your sequel. It will hold me over until The Dark Knight comes out on DVD and Blu Ray.

Wow. That was awesome! Loved it. Great filming and everything. Can't wait to see the sequel. 8D

Ah yes, the third trailer's "release".

That's an epic enough tale on its own that it won't be covered in "The Dark Fan". I remember that debacle quite well. A friend of mine was lucky enough to check it out-even got a Joker card for his troubles!

Thanks for the kind words, folks! Just tryin' to get this little movie some exposure.

Heehee, hilarious video Ryan :woot: You were all very good :yay: And very well shot, too.

An interesting thing...I showed it to a friend of mine, who's a huge Iron Man (as well as Batman, obviously :cwink:) fan, and she commented that Shane looks an awful lot like Robert Downey Jnr! :hehe:

Can't wait for the next one :yay:

I've been told Shane looks like Robert Downey Jr. a couple times now! Other times it has been Johnny Depp and then very recently it was Orlando Bloom....the guy must be doin' something right!

Though the facial hair is bein' ditched for the sequel to hopefully get more of a "Bruce Wayne" type look about him.

Hahaha, clearly he is :oldrazz: Although a Downey/Depp/Bloom cross would be very interesting to see :hehe:

Ah, that's a bit sad to hear :cwink: But I agree that it'll probably help with the aesthetic you're going for :yay:

Eeee. Can't wait :word:

While production doesn't start for another week, work has already begun on the promotional side of things for "The Dark Fan".

Here's a link to my webshots site. Check out the "Dark Fan" album to see some teaser photos/posters! In particular there is a Ryan-Jokerized newspaper similar to the work done for "The Dark Knight".

Let me know what you think!

May I ask if the Nightmare on the Elm street part in that was inspired by some comment in this thread? Just kidding.

I really like the t-shirt design, the deathlist, and the newspaper.

Wow dude that was awesome!

Saw that you live in Chicago. Do you go to Loyola?

Nah, I don't attend Loyola. Thanks for checking out the movie though!

wow this totally captures every one of my bat crazy friends including myself :D

Holy crap, This movie came out a while ago, Im surprised I haven't heard of it yet! Its way better than I though it would be! I hear tell of a sequel, can't wait!

I wonder what, if any new villains they'll bust out other than the Joker. What villains would you guys like to see them try?
