I think anyone who adamantly says that the Tumbler is a tank is reaching. A lot. Sure, it's stocky and heavily armored much like a tank is, but that's where the similarities end. If you see the Tumber out of context, you may assume that it's some monstrous vehicle, when in reality, it's not much larger than a normal car; just a little wider. I think the Tumbler fit what Batman might actually use were he looking for a main mode of transport in his war on crime. It's powerfull, fast, and intimidating while also being stealthy.

It's on the DVD, so it's official: the Thimbler is a damn TANK!

Uh, no it's not 'official'. That 'spoof' was made by MTV (who is neither affiliated nor associated with WB in any way) for some dumbass awards show and the studio included it in the bonus materials for the DVD. It's third party material and hence, not official. Oh and the MTV parody is only in the Region 1 DVD of BB.

Of course, you're free to dislike the Tumbler all you want, but insisting it looks or is tank (which it clearly isn't) is just dumb. I mean, all I need to do is post comparison pics to prove how downright ******ed that sounds. The Tumbler clearly has more in common with F-117s, Lamborghinis and monster trucks than it does with any bloody tank.

A tank requires tracks... without them its an armoured car, which is what the tumbler is

Yes, an armoured car. A very slow, very large armoured car...with a large turret at the top. :woot:

I meant to say the tumbler is just a car with armour

but to say its a tank? thats just crazy

I know what you meant, I was just further illustrating just how dissimilar the Tumber is to a tank :oldrazz:

All I'm finding are Tumbler pics. Are there supposed to be set pics of the Batpod somewhere over there?

The Tumbler is one of the fastest prop cars ever built. But I guess some people may have a stretchy enough suspension of disbelief to ignore the obvious camera speed raise and buy that the cars speed chase in Michael Bay movies is real...

Sorry, It was part of a stupid "the tumbler looks like a tank" arguement

back to the point....Go Batbike!!!

i agree.
thats really funny. you can complain about 100 things on the tumbler. but the speed just can not be one of them. it was really fast.

I'm not sure if you missunderstood me or if you're adding a whole new point.

Yes, and anyone who believes otherwise should check out the BB Chicago filming videos. There's one footage of the Tumbler racing on the freeway and it's so fast the camera and the helicopter searchlight had a tough time keeping it in focus due to which there were multiple takes of the same shot.

How fast do you think the bikes will go?

The designer said similar speed to Tumbler. Some articles say the Tumbler can reach 220mph, that sounds a little crazy, doubt they drove it anywhere near those speeds on set

Edit, Non bollocks articles say around 120mph

On the BB extra dvd they said that using the modified Mercedes-Benz with the special camera rig on it, they filmed scenes with the Tumbler in excess of 80 mph. Most car chases are filmed from 40-50 mph.

If the bike can do 80 then bring it on. Imagine it roaring along, dropping in height and going under a flatbed trailer

Plenty really, did they speed it up in editing?
There was zero undercranking for the Tumbler.

And about the 220 mph quote, the fictional car is supposed to do that. In reality, the car for the movie topped out at over 100 mph during filming. As I recall, it was outrunning the tracking helicopter at some points.
