maybe nolan fans are so BECAUSE they like what he is doing and not the other way around? what a novel concept :o

But, but, but...then he has a hole in his argument! That doesn't happen on the Hype! Everyone's opinion is fact!

:cwink:

The ignorance festering from your posts remind me of someone named "Batmaster".

Ignorance is a funny word, unless you know exactly what I'm thinking, saying, or feeling you can't say my comments are ignorant because you don't know what I know. If you trying to intimidate me by saying my statements are flawed then you're just proving my point that no one is allowed to have a different opinion if it goes against the Nolan ideas. I'm allowed to not like Nolan and it has been obvious to me that whenever anyone ever stated their distaste they were mauled by Nolan fans. This simple fact is where my comment came from. From my perception it is accurate which is good enough for me. It's not ignorance, ignorance would mean that I have no knowledge of this at all but I've seen it happen time and again, it's based on my experiences here.

Why don't you all just admit that whatever Nolan does you'll follow it no matter how much it may stink. Nolan fans will support anything he does and say it's a good Batman movie even if it's not. The praise I've read for Begins always reminded me more of a cult following than a bunch of movie fans. The Dark Knight will be the same way.
That kind of came out of nowhere. And it's not true anyway. Sure, there are Nolainites who love everything he does, but there also Burtonites (I hate myself for typing these words) who hate everything Nolan does. the consenus is that Batman Begins resurrected the franchise very well, is a good to very good movie, reasonably faithful to the mythos, and certainly respectful of it, and that hopefully TDK can iron out those flaws. You may not agree with that view, but I think it's the majority opinion on the boards.

Where do I fall in if I like both Burton and Nolan but prefer BB over B and BR. I still like Burton's films but I really enjoyed BB for going into Bruce's motivation more and training.

If more people stated it the way you did I would have never made the comment I made. I agree that the franchise is resurrected, and it's a good movie, I just find many flaws that are not allowed to be expressed without harsh scrutiny. I prefer 89 but that is not why I find fault in Begins, I just do. I can respect others opinions it's when those "opinions" are stated and they come across as fact where yours is automatically wrong is where it gets frustrating.

You misunderstand me. I'm not suggesting those are the only two camps on the boards, just the extremes, I think most people like the Burton and Nolan films, (Schumacher not so much), and may have a preference for one over the other. I prefer Begins to B89 on the basis of story strength, acting prowess and emotional involvement, whereas B89 is superior in art direction and score. But I still like 'em both.

Burtons films only have style going for it but not much else.

to be honst i rewatched B89 again last week and it really does have its moments of glory. I did feel that at times it was not as deep as Begins

So begins wins for me in terms of depth

Im mad now. I just realized they already have a bat-pod toy. Meaning the car was made...for the toy. Please please please I hope the series doesnt fall into this trap

See, there people go again forgetting to say, "In my opinion." Burton's movies have more going for them than just style in my opinion. I can relate a lot more to those two than I do for Begins. For whatever reason somewhere in my psyche I feel more intrigued, angry, and depressed when watching the original two and those are the feelings I want to feel when I watch Batman. Add to that the more gothic Gotham, the more stylized gadgets, and in my opinion a better looking costume and I'm hooked. Now I'm sure within moments of me stating this people will jump on it and say how wrong I am which just proves something else for another forum.

Why would someone have to say "in my opinion"? Who else's opinion would it be if they themselves are saying it?

I've seen people get flamed cuz somweone stated their opinion and it's been read as everyones opinion by one or two people.

Yup, time to get back to the cycle.

I wonder if he'll use it because the tumbler is blown up or something.

That seems to be the consnesus, from what I've read. It doesn't really matter what the genisis of the cycle is, it's going to be a replacement after the Tumbler bites the dust.

After all the love and effort that went into the Tumbler I still can't figure why they're so keen to blow it up for TDK. Does it have that much of an impact on the story? Time will tell. The only thing I can figure is that for #3 they have something else already planned. Either that or maybe the Tumber doesn't get completely smoked, and they rebuild it's remains bigger and better into something else....I don't know.
