The Dark Knight Rises Batman 3 to come out 2012??

Significantly? Hardly, give or take a few million at most, this depends of coarse on whether the film is actually good in the first place. What are the top two grossing films of all time? Titanic, and Return of the King. When were they released? December. I'm sorry, but on the back of TDK and all the acclaim it received, Batman 3 will make a **** load when ever it's released, it's unlikey to match TDK in terms of numbers, but it's still going to rake in millions, Christmas Day, Easter, New Years Eve, whenever, people will still flock to the cinema because at this point in time, Nolan, Bale and Batman are kings.

Yeah because Titanic is the best parallel to a BB3 sequel... :whatever:. As for ROTK... the guy already mentioned... the domestic returns pretty much flatlined for that franchise. Difference is Batman does not do that great overseas... it's mainly an American film. You are looking at a 50 million dollar difference in my opinion if you make that switch.

At least we'll get a good summer blockbuster before the world ends that December. Stupid Mayans and their calendar.

Revised superhero movie release dates:

Marvel delays superhero movie dates
AP - Thursday, March 12, 2009 06:53:18 AM

Fans of "The Avengers" will have to wait a little longer to see their favorite superheroes on the big screen. Marvel Entertainment Inc. said Thursday it will debut the flick on May 4, 2012, nearly a year after its previous launch date of July 15, 2011.

"The Avengers," which features a team of comic book characters, will be the culmination of a series of movies based on individual Marvel characters that will be released leading up to it.

"Iron Man 2" will launch on May 7, 2010, as scheduled. It will be followed by "Thor" on June 17, 2011, instead of its previously planned release date of July 16, 2010. "The First Avenger: Captain America" is now coming out on July 22, 2011 instead of May 6, 2011.

Separately, Marvel confirmed that "Spider-Man 4" from Sony Pictures Entertainment, is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2011.

The new schedule "maximizes the visibility of our single character-focused films, leading to the highly anticipated release of the multi-character 'The Avengers,'" said David Maisel, chairman of Marvel Studios, in a statement.

My bet is on BB3 for a July 2012 release.

Marvel really are spreading themselves to try and hog everything up. :hehe:

I know you're probably joking, but the Mayan calender "ending" in 2012 doesn't signify the end of the world, it signifies the end of a cycle which starts over again. A new calendar.

Don't want to be a downer, but somethings supposed to happen in 2012 :(...I don't want that in the back of my mind during the anticipation. Batman 3 could be a happy and sad event for me

Don't worry; this post has it right:

Personally....I'd say Nolans Third Batman Films will either be a December 2011 Release or like whats been tossed around quite a bit a July 2012 Release. Unless....They Move the film back to its original month June? There seems to be nothing in month that will class with the third bat film? But Nolan can take as much time as he needs....I just want for the first time a good third comicbook film.

Even though I'm pretty sure the Maiyan calender thing is bullcrap, apparently the Maiyan system is different from our system, so infact we are a few years ahead of the Maiyan system, which means that for them 2012 already happened, and we are still alive.

Good thing Roland Emmerich is making that $180 million How-to Survival Guide video. :woot:

.....

It is Mayan. The Mayan system of calander is far more advanced then our system. When it translates over to our Gregorian system it is the date 12/21/12. We are not a few years ahead of the Mayans at all.

Stop scaring me Captain. :(

Honestly... I'd be more than happy to wait until 2014 as long as its done correctly.

I really want it out in 2011. My senior year will be in 2012. Meaning this movie franchise will have followed me from 6th grade to senior year of high school. It's very weird to think about that. And plus, for some reason I think about 2012 all the time. I can't imagine thinking about that AND Batman 3. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the anticipation. So even if it's not true, I'd still be thinking out it

Hey man me too! But wouldnt it be from 5th grade to Senior year?
Btw: We should totally make a group of 2012 Graduates :P

Has that much time actually passed? Crap. I'm feeling old.

i was fortunate enough to have the build up of TDK being during my senior year of college...im with you Fox

I just hope Michael Caine is still alive by then...he's getting old, and I don't want another Alfred!

Tell me about it, we already got another Rachel, and now Ledger is gone...so either No or New Joker...
All we need is a new Alfred in the mix
