I'm genuinely curious to find out why the GRU has such a symbol. I mean, why a bat of all things, and why does it just so happen to look just like a copy Batman's emblem? Bacardi's different, that's an actual bat, but in this case the symbols actually are identical.

My Russian friend says that bats symbolise stealth, secrecy and cunning. He said 'they travel in secret and take you in the night' and that they're damn perfect for a spook agency, and then he closed the blinds and cowered under a blanket. You don't have to be afraid here' And then I took him to McDonalds so he sees the glory of our system.
