I'm sure you've read about the films and shorts based on the toy lines. If you haven't, info can be found here.

Here's the trailer for the first film...

It looks hilariously silly. With Penguin being the main villain I might give it a watch.

A lot of people being extremely harsh on the animation in this. I'm sure if I were a youngster, I'd eat it up.

Holy ****, it's Tim as Red Robin wearing a costume that not a knockoff of Disco-Nightwing! And with real Nightwing in it as well!

Oh, crud. I might have to buy this now.

They forgot that this is made for kids and it's promoting a toy line that caters to kids. I hate the type of fanboys that feel that everything sci-fi or superhero related has to be made for them and them alone. They give the people who frequent these type of forums a bad name and need to learn to get over themselves.

So Cheetah's taking orders from the freaking Penguin now is she? Well I see that DC/WB's disrespect for WW and her rogues continues unabated, ugh.

It's a animal themed Batman film for KIDS!

So what? That means that I have to give it a pass? Nope, don't buy that. "It's for kids" is the cheapest/laziest excuse for poor story telling that you could possibly use. You know what else was for kids, BTAS and ATLA. Yet they didn't talk down to their audience. And here's an idea, use a character that better fits this situation. Because this is the equivalent of General Zod taking orders from The Riddler.

A lot of these cats that complain online about these types of projects are the same people that act like G.I. Joe: Real American Hero, Masters of the Universe and Transformers were ever high art. When in reality they were just rushed half hour toy commercials catering to the 10 and under crowd who don't have such discriminate tastes.

"Buh buh BTAS was for kids"

and?...this isn't BTAS. The majority of kids shows are executed the same way this movie seems to be executed. Get over yourselves and let these kids live and enjoy something that might end up making them a lifelong Batman or DC Comics fan in the end.

I got into Batman thanks in part to the Filmation cartoon. It's not exactly high art but it was good enough to get my attention as a 4 year old. Sometimes that's more than enough. Out of the dozens of animated DC projects WB has put out in the past 6 years and the dozens more to come I'm sure there will be something that caters to your taste as well. It's ok for there to also be something out there that doesn't.

Which reminds me. As a kid I would've loved a series of animated videos based on Kenner's Legends of the Dark Knight toyline.

I think you're talking crap personally, they obviously wanted some villains that represented animals those are the ones they chose. This animated film is clearly for a younger audience simply to sell the toys. I think giving it a pass is absolutely fine.

Don't watch it then, simple as.

What exactly is wrong with Cheetah taking orders from Penguin?

I guess because Cheetah is going from being a main Wonder Woman villain to just one of Penguin's mooks. Plus her powers come from a goddess, but I doubt that'll be the case here.

But yeah, her inclusion is a bit pointless since WW isn't there and only feels like they put her in there to avoid a complete sausage fest.

She's in there simply because she's an Animal related villain, I doubt the way she is portrayed in an animated film to sell toys is going to have any baring on possible future versions of her in a Wonder Wonan movie. Jeez!

I don't know. It's not Cheetah has been that major of a villain in her depictions outside of the comics. So, it's whatever for me.

The power stuff is moot since that depends what background they give this version of the character (if she even has a background to care about given the story).

AW... Looks interesting to me!

So any chance of a series explaining the backdrop to this?

Then there's the Vixen series is that still likely?

So no one has seen a comic book story where a nonpowered individual leads or provides guidance (and yes, even gives orders) to someone with more power?

The Injustice League/Gang/Legion of Doom springs to mind...

Looks decent, but I'll probably pass on it. I can only take so much Batman.

Yep.

It'd be like complaining when Batman or Black Canary were the leaders of the JL in the Young Justice toon when there are so many more powerful characters on the team too.

Zero complaints, I read many hate the new animation right down to batmans new logo on his chest but hey its batman :)

If it was a cheesy remake of superfriends then I may not watch it....who am I kiddin

And the saying this is more for kids having watched plenty DC animation series and films I would say they are for all ages there is no way kids can understand the storyline or characters !

I really only have one legitimate complaint. First the New 52 movies and now this? What the hell is this fascination in covering up Batman's chin?

The same as giving Superman a collar; modern artists think it updates the aesthetic.

I'm with you, though. Not a huge fan of the chinguard.
