A robot mannequin with the power to walk, march and mimic the movements of a soldier has been unveiled by the Ministry of Defence.
The Porton Man, which cost £1.1m, has been created to allow scientists to test protective suits designed to protect UK personnel from chemical and biological attacks.
New technology enables the robot to move its head, allowing a better range of movement, and special sensors have been placed on its body allowing scientists to carry out real-time analysis while testing.
The Ministry of Defence said the new mannequin, built using Formula 1 technology, is unique to the UK, which is leading the way in testing.
It will be used by scientists at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) in Porton Down Wil****re, who test clothing worn by soldiers to protect them against chemical warfare.
The Porton Man is much lighter than its predecessor and even has removable thumbs making it easier to put gloves on, as well as ankles that can flex.

That was like the worst hoax ever, took me 30 seconds to find pic and article.

Or are you this guy, and wanted to take out your facade? :argh: :o

You are welcome.

I would dismiss that twitter user all together if I were you :o

Agreed. I checked with my people who would know if he was legit, and he is most certainly NOT.

I will say he's doing a nice job roleplaying though. Except for his recent photo.

He's gonna need a new identity after using an easily searchable pic for that stupid hoax :o

Even though it's not going to be in the movie I think that is one creepy looking robot.

Look you guys are clever dudes why the heck would some of you think WB began viral marketing this early? and if they do I hope it's from the Daily Planet.

because some of us just want to believe anything about this movie, I'm extremely guilty of it.

Masonic temple with production stuff.

Even though it's probably just a gotham building, I hope it's wayne manor.

It way too big and castle-like to be a Wayne manor, look at just how many floors this building has.

Well, you could say the same thing about Charles Foster Kane's house.

I haven't read every Batman comic ever, but wasn't Wayne Manor mostly outside Gotham city, like on the outskirts?

These buildings seem to be in the center of the city.

The Masonic Temple is a little bit outside downtown detroit. They can probably use some CGI to make it look like it's far away from a city.

Fair point.

But I still find it a bit over the top for them to go for it. Besides, should't there be garden around the house with iron or stone fence? Something like this:

That's right, except that it isn't even castle-like; it's just a huge, multi-story, civic building. It doesn't look like a residence at all. Big houses, mansions etc tend to have few stories but to spread over several wings.

That's easy to make if they decided it needs to be WM. different locations and CGI. For example if they wanted that look for Arkham I'd like it to be on an island like on Arkham games. And they could film this location and another ones to make a great looking arkham.

You said it better than I did. And you're right, it's just those two towers that make it look reminiscent of a castle and not much else.

CGI for Arkham island I can understand, every help is needed to recreate the dark and gothic feel of that place, but is it really necessary to use CGI for Wayne manor when there must be plenty of properties with suitable look in the USA?
The manor is most often depicted as a typical Victorian mansion and since house design of the era was accepted in the America almost concurrently with Britain, there must be many of them still around and shouldn't be any trouble to find one.

Yeah you're right I get your point.
