That building isn't really how I think of Arkham Asylum looking. It seems too clean and monolithic. I feel Arkham should look like it has grown over time, as it has been extended and its capacity has been exceeded. There should be rooms that are walled up, corridors that are forgotten, and towers with no means of access. The smaller building that we have seen undergoing reconstruction would be fine, if it was on a huge scale.

That describes the inside of the Train Station perfectly, though maybe alittle too much of the building would be off limits and it's probably too dangerous to film inside the building to be honest. There is alot of damage inside, debris everywhere, holes in the floors and staircases, graffiti etc. etc. Though I haven't been inside in almost 15 years since they fenced it off and upped the security due to it becoming a filming hotspot, maybe they have cleaned out all the garbage and debris. They'd probably still have to fix up a floor inside for it to be structurally safe, I think they'll probably build up a replica set instead if this does end up being the stand in for Arkham and just use the actual building for outside shots. But for me, having seen all of this up close I think it provides excellent visuals and is very Arkham like. Walking around inside the Station actually does kind of feel like you're walking in an abandoned mental facility. The Train Station would be a phenomenal stand-in for Arkham IMO.

Sorry, haven't seen anybody make that connection on this thread yet, read back through and stilldidn't see any mention of it. If it has been discussed I did not find those post so I was unaware. Thanks for the good eye compliment though. If these pics are related though then I really dont think that building is Arkham.

Na it's all good, I think it was a few months back too and probably on another thread but yeh, it happens! :yay:
I really don't have any clue as to what the building is going to be and that makes me happy TBH.

Could fantasy become reality?

We're getting one pretty soon on Gotham.

From that Instagram:

A lot of you may know that I've been posting pictures of this house on Instagram for years. Well, you can look forward to seeing it in "Batman vs Superman." They are filming it today. Apparently, it will be Batman's mansion.

:hmm

By the way, thanks for posting this.

Edit

Hm How would he know it will be Bruce Wayne's Mansion?

Heh, you beat me to it.

I'm wondering the same.

Or was his mansion. Looks abandoned. Maybe he moved but the cave is still there. Wasn't he supposed to have another place out on the lake?

I believe so, but I keep losing track of what is a confirmed fact and what a baseless rumor.

There was definitely some information about that, I just don't know to which of these two categories it belongs.

That's what I've been thinking too, but people kept saying it wasn't big enough to be Wayne's. To me, it's fairly big and obviously as it looks deterring in the set pics, they can make it look good in the movie. Also instead of it being Wayne Manor, it could be the other house he has like the rumors suggested.

It is big, it's just somewhat strangely narrow in front for an old mansion of this type, they are regularly much wider.

Main reason for this is because, being unable to go much in height without collapsing, Victorian mansions would usually be upgraded during the years by expanding the sides. Or to use proper terminology, east and west wing.

Eh, wayne manor would be much bigger IMO

Guy just wants to grab some attention is all.

For all we know that house could be used in the filming of a soap commercial. How do we know that it's BvS that it's being used for?

"Batman v Superman extra: 'Fans can expect to be blown away and damn near have tears in their eyes,"

Good read.

This movie has some of the most knowledgeable extras ever. Every single one of them seems to know the entire plot for some reason. Snyder must be giving heavily detailed narrations to the extras instead of "This is your role - do this, collect your pay and have a nice day".
