I thought this was very interesting and relevant. 1000 movie goers were polled at theaters in NYC about Batman Vs Superman and Man Of Steel among other questions.

It's interesting because this is the general public, and this is who WB/DC is targeting.

http://www.gotham-news.com/news/201...oers-think-of-the-supermanbatman-announcement

We took a trip to AMC and Regal Cinema's Times Square movie theaters -- two of the busiest in New York City - and polled the opinions of exactly 1,000 people. Here are the questions we put to them as well as their answers (percentiles are rounded to the nearest whole number):

Wow, that's a really great read. Thanks for that. Good to see the percentages in favor of people liking Man of Steel for whoever DID see it. Some interesting things in there. Marketing is going to have to be huge givin' the fact that A.) The majority of the public isn't aware of Batman in the sequel; B.) Are excited that Batman has a role and C.) Think Christian Bale will be in for the role. C is the major prob but nonetheless, a cool read.

I find it really interesting because we're not talking about a forum or internet poll. Actual movie going public.

Same people Jay Leno makes fun of regularly on his show. Nolan directed Man of Steel?

I bet they know who Justin Bieber is dating though

That last question is amazing.

On the whole I have to say I'm surprised by a few things on there. It's a good sign that more enjoyed than didn't enjoy MoS.

Interesting find Show. I think the movie would make close to Avengers money if Bale were Batman.

Very interesting read indeed.

They've got their work cut out for them getting the GA on board with recasting/rebooting Batman so soon.

It's kinda discouraging when the majority of the polled moviegoers thought C. Nolan directed MOS. That alone is sad.

I will bet money WB is trying to get either Bale or JGL back. Should that happen, it'd definitely draw more positive buzz for this pic.

What I liked most is that 32% would actually like to see a Wonder Woman Movie, while only 12% want to see a Flash Movie. Get on that Wonder Woman Movie already WB.

I always thought that a decent well marketed Wonder Woman could at least do 375-400mil worldwide. As long as the budget is reasonable (130-150mil) it can be a hit.

I honestly would not be surprised if we see WB backtrack and announce Bale is returning. If they think their seriously going to be losing big bucks without his involvement then they will try what they can to get him back.

They never said that Bale wasn't returning, they just haven't asked him. It's everyone else that is presuming that he isn't because they haven't asked him.

Didn't they say we'd get a new Batman? Bale wouldn't make sense. His Bruce is already too old, too broken, and definitely not smart enough to be the kind of Batman that could pose a challenge to Superman.

Bale isn't the kind of actor who returns for money IMO. He did that once with Terminator 4 and well... look how that turned out. He seems smart now and chooses on scripts. He definitely doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd devote himself to a universe of films. That means main roles, side-roles, cameos...

Plus, He probably does at least one more Superman/Batman movie and three Jl films.
Thats a good ten to fifteen years of his life and after nearly two decades as Batman, what is his career going to be like ?

Man , I am so in agreement with this
Bring on Wonder Woman .

He is still a big and respectable actor starring in high quality, critically acclaimed films and even won his oscar between Batfilms. His career hasn't nosedived like Reynolds or Toby Maguire's who has only been in 3 films since SM3. Plus he is with BIG directors.

I don't think his career would be in trouble at all. He just seems to be an actor who likes different roles and not restricting himself, this universe would lend itself to at least 4, 5 or maybe 6 films depending on the route WB take and I just don't see someone like Bale planning to be the same character for so long.

I mean just look at RDJ as Tony Stark. He started IM1 full of life and made it his own now to me it kinda looked like he phoned in his performance in IM3 (It was very much Stark-mode on autopilot at points) and now just watching interviews with him it kinda looks like he wants out of the whole thing. Especially with the contract issues Marvel have had with him recently.

I doubt that. 60% said interest would go down. Not that they wouldn't go.

I'd hate to be one of the writers who would have to make that one work though (Bale coming back).

Hasn't Bale publicly declared he would only consider doing Batman again if Nolan was directing? Since Nolan will never direct another Batman movie , then isn't it a given Bale will never be Batman again? Besides, as was said earlier, Bale is doing well enough he doesn't need to do it again, it would actually be a step backwards for his career.

From the press release:
http://batman-news.com/2013/07/20/warner-bros-announces-batman-superman-movie-for-2015/

The new Batman has yet to be cast.
[Dark Knight Trilogy Producer] offered, “Whilst our ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack’s fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction.

All that being said, I'd love to see Bale back. Even if it messes with Nolan's movies a bit. And they've definitely already asked Bale to come back.

Well, maybe things like this will cause them to bring Christian Bale back. However much they say that will not happen, I won't believe it fully until they announce someone else.

Actually 53% being more excited about Batman being in the film is a bare majority, although what WB would really want to know is if those who have no seen MOS are more likely to see the sequel with Batman in it, and there is no clear indication of how large that group is from the pole.

Considering Nolan was one of the producers, and thus his name appeared in the credits, I am not sure it is that bad people thinking he was the director. I could not name the director of most films I have seen.

And in every single trailer

Also, without people knowing who the new Batman will be, they really can't react. Bale vs. an unknown person is a lot different than Bale vs. some else.
