2016 is in the books for the DCEU.

If you want to make this the Batman v. Superman Ultimate Edition vs. Suicide Squad that's fine too.

Let's keep the topic on the 2 movies at hand.

Suicide Squad.

At least that had some enjoyable characters like Harley and Deadshot. Plus as bad as Enchantress and Joker were, they were not mind numbingly annoying and cheesy like Eisen Lex was.

BvS. The Suicide Squad's sloppy moments actually surpass the Theatrical Cut of BVS's sloppy moments in terms of how jarring they are. SS seemed to have better cast chemistry but Croc, Katana, and Boomerang are missing whatever character development they needed to make their actions from the bar scene on forward in the film. If you break out the UC of BvS, the filmmaking side of the argument doesn't even stand a chance for Suicide Squad, unless they have a Director's Cit coming for that too.

It is like choosing whether to destroy the world through floods or disease. In the end the world is destroyed so method does not matter.

A better way to ask this question:

"Would you rather be kicked in the left nut or the right nut?"

Honest to God, I'd say Batman v Superman.

BvS is a joyless and dour affair, but that was the vision of the director, and he stuck with it throughout. It didn't try to shy away from what it was.

Suicide Squad has no idea what it is or what it wants to be. It's a Frankenstein's Monster of a movie. Cut and hacked and stitched together from bits and pieces of different concepts, and forced back to life. There's no clear vision. It's an unmitigated mess.

Batman vs Superman. I think both cuts are superior to Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad has fun bits and such, but the film's overall plot is a mess. BvS has issues, but the movie itself I felt made more sense, had a more clear direction, better visuals/cinematography, and was just overall better.

Ugh. This is a tough one. I feel like Matt's assessment above kinda sums up my feelings. I think I'll vote for BvS though, God help me. Although SS had characters I actually liked (BvS didn't really have any... I like Henry and Amy but they were so minimized that they weren't memorable in the film at all), the movie was SUCH a massive mess that it makes it hard to give it any sort of credit. It WREAKED of studio interference. Yet I'm not sure that the movie would have been good anyway even without all that. Enchantress (who sucked) would have likely still been the villain, the whole thing about assembling a team that could take on a Superman-level threat would have likely still been there and not making one lick of sense, etc.

I can forgive a lot of Suicide Squads flaws because it was a fun movie. It didn't take itself to seriously. BvS wanted to be Citizen Kane...

I really hope SS does well financially so we can get SS2. I really like the characters and feel they could be so much better with some more back story.

BvS in a landslide. Better in every aspect.

Say what you will about Luthor in BvS, but he had personality. Enchantress had none.

His plan was a lot more elaborate than the simplistic garbage of Enchantress. Especially in the UC.

I don't know. In the same way that I'd rather eat nothing at all than a bowl of crap if given the choice, I'd take the bland one over the one I find to be completely insufferable.

Suicide Squad easily! At least that's a movie I can watch with my whole family and we all enjoy it. The same can't be said for BVS, Wonder Woman and Batfleck are awesome in that movie though

Luthor has some interesting moments and I would much ratther watch that performance than the bland and poorly acted Enchantress

Suicide squad is the Transformers of the DCEU, not good but dumb fun. BvS was just terrible. MOS over both.

Luthor is better compared to Waller, and Enchantress (+brother) with Doomsday in my view. Out of those Waller was by far the best to me.

Suicide Squad might be a messier movie, but it didn't hurt me with terrible portrayals and characterizations of some of my favorite heroes and villains. BvS hit me right in the heart, so I'll go SS.

I found Deadshot and Harley Quinn more likeable as characters than dour puss face Superman.

Batman v Superman is probably a better constructed film but I didn't like any of those characters. So points for Suicide Squad probably? Idk.

SS is easier to rewatch but I think ultimately in terms of being a competent film

BvS: UC > SS > BvS

Suicide Squad. Neither of those movies were good, but SS wasn't a chore to watch like BVS, and at least it gave me some characters I could care about.

Voted Suicide Squad but that is strictly on the theatrical cuts of both.

UC of BvS is better than SS though for me.
