What's a Batman forum without a "vs." thread saying Batman can take on anybody? (no thanks to Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" in which Miller had him take Superman down)

The trick is to think of a fairly even matchup and then give a creative/entertaining explanation for why this would take place.

Here are a few matchups, I've thought off the top of my head (feel free to post your own as we move along):

Daredevil vs. Batman
Huntress vs. Elektra
The Joker vs. Jigsaw (from the 90's Punisher comics)
Nightwing vs. Rorcharc

Batman beats Daredevil, he strikes harder with a better chin and he can sneak up on superman so I assume he can sneak up on Daredevil. In my defense, I've never really read Daredevil cmics so i'm going by tv/movie.

Batman vs James Bond, that'sa a match I like to see.

That's one i would also like to see. Good one.:cwink:

I'd like to see Batman go head to head with Swamp Thing again. Swamp Thing #55, "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Alan Moore, has Swamp Thing beat down Batman pretty good.

I know in a later issue by Doug Moench, Batman encounters Swamp Thing again, but i've never read the story so i don't know if they fight.

Swamp Thing #7 by Len Wein and Berni Wrightson features Batman and Swamp Thing going at it too, for the first time. They have a pretty brutal fight, but Batman can't put him down and Swamp Thing(who doesn't want to fight, but can't speak) punches Batman in the face and takes him out.

I'm of the firm believe that Swamp Thing could probably beat everyone in the DCU, but who knows? Another Batman vs Swamp Thing match would be a nice read, especially if it's The Bat God vs Swamp Thing(or The Swamp God, whatever you want to call him)

Batman vs. Chuck Norris would be incredibly hard to call

Who would win this? I'd say Chuck Norris.:hehe:

Chuck Norris IS Batman, the reason Batman appears beardless is because Chuck manipulates his beard to form the cowl and cape.

Call me crazy, but I'd like to see Batman vs. Freddy Krueger. I'm a huge horror fan, and I think that it's a potentially intriguing matchup. Batman has tons of personal demons for Krueger to torment him with, but his will is unlike any other person, ever. Certainly stronger than anyone Krueger has ever faced in the dreamworld. I could easily see Batman bad-assing his way through, overpowering Freddy with his mind or something.

But yeah, I've tossed around the notion of writing a fan script for that particular matchup, but I never actually get around to it. Maybe one day..

Jason vs Batman! lol but I'd love to see HULK vs Batman

I think of all the superheros from DC to Marvel

hands down no one can beat HULK

but batman wins

? lol:bh::brucebat:

gottA love the bat fans

Given the recent shenanigans in Final Crisis I think it'd be only appropriate to see Batman take on Death itself.

Also, agreed with Two-Face on him versus James bond, I don't know who'd be the winner...

Joker would put a smile on Jigsaw's face, easily.

Batman vs. Punisher anyone?

Hmmm... I can kind of see how a Darth Vader conflict could turn out. Consider the following.
Chuck Norris IS Batman, the reason Batman appears beardless is because Chuck manipulates his beard to form the cowl and cape.

Anti-Moderator menitioned the Universe imploding if they were actually 2 seperate entities fighting. However, being one and the same hopefully, we are safe for now. Nonetheless, what if Batman had a personality conflict and had to face his inner demons?

What if, out of the blackness of space comes a man out from a distant place, from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

His name is Vader and thru a timewarp has appeared in a world that he had previously blown up with his deathstar (on a previous time/space travel into a future earth he had done this). Anyhow, traveling back before this whole blowing up the planet business, he wanted to copulate a young woman with something dark and sinister (not white and pearly!), something beyond time and space that came out of this void. His name? Bruce Wayne aka Chuck Norris.

Upon reaching the age of 300 (yet he's still young for some reason), the Death Star approaches and it's up to Batman to figure things out. While spying on the justice league via a device called "Redeye" he'd discovered all of it's surviving members were up to no good. However, after he killed Superman (while doing a roundhouse kick to Superman's groin wearing ,kryptonite spikes on the ends of his stealth boots, while flying in midair courtest while wearing a jetpowered batwing suit) the rest fell in line and supporting characters and became nameless/non-entities that couldn't even get the public to buy their comic issues anymore.

As the death star hovers above earth it blocks out the sun... All is lost and people become nihilistic and cynical (something Batman begins to despise since he feels he's lost a sense of individuality). Now everyone's walking out on the streets trying to be tough. Wearing of all things, "SEAT PANTS?!". This is not a trend Batman appreciates so he must confront this Vader straight away by flying to the deathstar using his batwing/jet suit.

Upon entry, he takes out a number of robot sentries using an electromagnetic pulse frequency generated by his voice (in small print explanation for nobody to read:there's been a bit of a disruption with non-organic entities upon entering the worm hole bodily organs reversed themselves and were disrupted/frozen by sensory inputs especially from that of a loud commanding voice). As Batman walked further, he encountered a man with an awkward gate using what appeared to be a star shaped belt buckle that created a glare off of it blinding all the approaching storm troopers for some unkown reason (small print again but nobody can make out what it reads). For once Batman is stumped and can't figure something out (that Chuck Norris had obciously gotten to the Death Star by walking not using technology based gibber gabber).

Upon encountering Chuck Norris (whose from a totally seperate universe), they begin to amalgate together (like in the DC vs. Marvel comics). As this entity becomes one (partially due to their unstoppable similarities); the death star begins to rumble and a peircing "Noooooooooooooooooooo" begins to permeate the building leaving all stormtroopers (or "henchmen") catatonic (more small print that noone can read about how the fusion created an extrasensory force that was heard by those not in the vicinity).

This leaves Batman/chuck a clear pathway to Vader whose located behind the biggest door that can be found at the end of the spaceway (huge hallway!). Upon encountering VAder, the classic "I am your father" resonates before anything can be said. Suddenly the dark nature behind batman is revealed. However, the Chuck Norris part of this amalgamation doesn't care about extended villain/hero talk and wishes to end this. As the 2 parts of this entity begin to battle and a wierd sort of static/viscous (sort of H.P. Lovecraft like) begins to radiate out. Suddenly, Vader realises the sudden danger (traveling back again wasn't such a good idea since by entering another universe once fictional rules of the star wars universe began to disrupt the fictional rules of another universe; traveling back before this time period slight alterations were already beginning to appear; slight alterations in history were being rewritten backwards from the point of the explosion yadda yadda yadda) and races back to check the death stars calibrations (since the captain, Vader had killed with an invisible choke hold for fun earlier) preparing it to re-enter the worm hole. As they're mid-worm hole the Batman/Chuck fusion begins to split (history has been altered since the Deathstar didn't blow earth up; note this was Vader's first trip by earth via transdimensional time travel; before his second arrival in which he decided to start copulating women on earth to complete his conquest knowing that earth would be blown up in the future).

Suddenly, the universe begins to fold over on itself (a wrinkle in time) and a chain reaction begins to occur as a random ripple effect disrupting the feedback loop (of past, present, and future) in which the there's an implosion within the worm hole causing a a fissure that erupts out of this hole causing explosions throughout the universe (kind of like puking and swallowing at the same time) the consequences being completely random and unexplainable (just like some of these characters adventures). The series of explosions would seem kind of like a domino effect getting bigger and bigger into what would appear to be the Big Bang (all because Vader decided to go back to Earth just one more time to get abit of ***** before, in the future, he was supposed to blow it up).

batman VS internet fans

he throws car batteries at them

I know in a later issue by Chuck Dixon i think, Batman encounters Swamp Thing again, but i've never read the story so i don't know if they fight.

You might be thinking of the Moench story where Batman follows Killer Croc to the swamp and runs across Swamp Thing. There isn't much of a fight as I recall, just Batman throwing a punch that gets his arm stuck inside Swamp Thing's chest. Swamp Thing then drugs Batman to kinda make him understand Killer Croc's point of view, as I recall anyway, its been a while.

why were they fightin?

Jigsaw & The Joker team up to try and take over all the mobs. The Punisher starts killing bad guys to find Jigsaw's whereabouts. Batman stops him, they fight pretty good and Punisher escapes to kill more bad guys.Of course, both are trying to stop the mob takeover. Punisher is about to cap The Joker and Batman stops him. Punisher punches Batman in the face(batman lets him have that one). Punisher goes for it again and Batman catches his fist and throws him into a stack of boxes.

It's a good read, albeit too short. The the Joker is written pretty good. This is the second Batman/Punisher book. The first one has Azbats and Punisher, which i haven't read.
