Batman Year 100

I finished the book and thought it was pretty tight.

I thought the 'Batmobile' being this brutal bike that could hang upside down folded up like a Bat when not in use was way cool.
I also liked how it was not revealed who Batman was at the end.

Who's house was that Batman and Robin were staying in- was it his or the docs?
Does anyone know what his relationship was with the doc- did it go beyond her being part of his team?

Anyway, I don't think Batman was Bruce Wayne, but someone that Bruce had passed the cape and cowl onto.
Considering this I found it strange that Gordon called Batman Bruce at the end.
As for him handing GCPD's real Bat-file over to Batman, surely Batman already knew everything about 'his' past right?

The art was awesome and the pacing was spot on.
Overall I'd give BMY100 8/10. Wicked grim!

The clues to how Batman survived that long are found throughout the story. Hint: it has to do with the blood/DNA.

If it is Wayne, then why is he living in some crappy apartment instead of a mansion?

..and why does the doc at one point have a go at Batman and refer to how it was 'fun in the beginning' when 'they' were getting the bad guys?
As if to say they started this Batman's fight against crime as the assembled team of four.

hey, is this set in the future? is this the same Batman (Bruce Wayne) or a new Batman?

Where exactly is this confirmed then?

Gordon says " I know all about you......Bruce?" or something to that effect. but Batman never confirms it he just ditches into the forest. So.....yeah, take it as it is.

I'm also interested to know what The Guard is on about.

^That's not confirmation.

He was just throwing it out there to show he knows about Batman's history.
I don't see how that confirms the current Batman was BW.

it doesn't. Like Nepenthes said, Batman never confirmed Jim's 'Bruce' comment. I think it was supposed to show that Jim knew that real Bruce was Batman, and that he also knew what happened during the transition from real Bruce to this new Batman.

well his name is clearly "bruce" and he really doesnt want people getting his DNA. he also knows all about the old batman, like adopting an orphan and naming him robin or referencing the joker, stuff that no one would really know about. even the government wasnt sure if batman was ever real or not. so either this Batman inherited knowlege from bruce wayne somehow or its bruce wayne. if it IS bruce wayne then he obviously wouldnt have his mansion or riches anymore especially after the events in DKR and DKSA.

The story heavily implies that it's Bruce Wayne, even after all those years, and that he doesn't want anyone getting ahold of the DNA and confirming that reality. I think he may have cloned himself or something along those lines. There are just enough subtle hints (don't ask me what they are, I can't remember) to make that a possibility.

Hmm, it's not rammed home though.

I think it leaves it open to interpretation.
