Oh yeah. It's a WWII shooter.

Battlefield 1943 is a multiplayer only, streamlined pseudo-remake of Battlefield 1942. It takes place in the Pacific Theatre. It uses the Frostbite engine from Bad Company so the buildings and environment are destructable. There are three classes and four maps. All of which are incredibly well balanced.

Anyway, it's a really awesome game and unbelievably fun and addictive. You can currently get it on the Xbox Live Marketplace or the Playstation Store for about fifteen bucks. And for PC later in the year. I highly suggest anyone who is itching for a new multiplayer shooter at least download the demo and give it a whirl while you're waiting for ODST and Modern Warfare 2 or whatever other shooter you're excited about.

Personally, for whatever reason it's the first Battlefield game I've ever really been able to enjoy and I'm loving it.

I downloaded the demo and it was pretty good. Brought back a lot of memories, at a local hobby shop we use to play Battlefield 1942 and BF2 through Lan all the time.

I just finished the demo, it's a lot of fun. I might be tempted to pick this up one day. I love the epic-ness of it all, the vehicles and size of the maps.

Bought this last night since I could finally get in a match. I forgot how much I missed playing Battlefield: Bad Company. Playing this feels relatively the same. I also forgot how annoying people can be in these games.

bad company is good...i played it all last night...but this gameplays a lil more simple...and a lil more enjoyable IMO....either way its a great arcade game!

This game is great...other than the players. I mean, look, I got into the plane first, blowing it up with me inside is not going to solve anything.

That and it doesn't help that people will go capture one point and stand there not doing anything else. Meanwhile, I, all by my lonesome will try to capture a point. As I try to capture it an enemy will choose to spawn there and kill me. That or a sniper will get a magic headshot on me all the while the players at the other lone base are becoming cannon fodder for the bombing run that enemy players spam.

I used to play the heck out of Battlefield 1943, even got all the expansions for the game. I brought Battlefield Vietnam and Battlefield 2043 (that futuristic BF), but neither lived up to the original. Glad to see it on 360 now, but I have no interest of playing FPS on 360 because I still prefer mouse+KB over controller.

Oh yeah, I mean I wish this had a kill cam because I constantly get shot out of nowhere.

For some odd ass reason when i heard about this i was thinking Battlestations, which isnt bad but not really my cup of tea, so i just wrote it off. I just downloaded the demo and am now about to buy the full game.

Yea i heard about that. Loving the game so far. Just wish there was more communication. Guess everyone is in parties or what not but iv only heard like one dude talking.

Iv logged in a ton of hours and still have only heard one dude talk, and this is a game where team work REALLY is important. Im feeling a SHH! match tho. Anyone here a pretty good pilot? Im decent myself and i could use a wingman.
