One thing iv learned from playing the console versions of Battlefield is the community is always filled with *****, much more so than other titles. Maybe its just the nature of the game? I don't know. The other night i was playing Air Superiority and like 2 or 3 ppl on the other team would just land on our carrier and either try and kill us before we got to our planes or would just keep blowing our planes up before we got there. This wouldn't have bothered me so much if it was a full game but we only had like 3 ppl to their 4. I guess their intention was to keep us from gaining superiority by not allowing us to get in the air. I also cant play a full game without someone, instead of trying to capture a base, just sits on top of a hill sniping as ppl spawn up at that base.
As for shooting a plane before it takes off, i feel thats a good strategy because if you know what you are doing(which most ppl don't in this game) the planes can be extremely dangerous. I rather shoot someone down before they get airborne then have to risk them being an ace or a skilled tank buster. I'm not saying camp the base, but if you are flying towards an enemies base and see someone taking off, it'd be stupid to let him get in the air. More often than not they'll suck at flying and crash 3 seconds into their flight, but every now and then you'll come across a dude who can do mad damage to a team with one of those planes.
