This isn't hate. I loved the film, it's just an observation. And if this has already been mentioned then please delete. The top screen is from TF, the bottom screen is from Pearl Harbor.

Ew. I don't think it's been brought up, and that blows a little bit. Nice find.

yeah, its been brought up in the pics discussion thread. But that was a while back.

I'll never watch Pearl Harbor again in my life, so I don't care.

Didn't Bay also reuse the beginning Blackout shots during the Decep roll-call?

Bay saves the monies for explosions, son! :cmad:

Yeah that one I caught.

Ha ha ha. Is this a common thing to do?

how about the shot of frenzy behind that pillar at the end, that circles around the room? it's the exact same shot from Bad Boys 2

That's EXACTLY what I thought when I watched that scene. I was looking for some dreadlocked dudes to come out and start shooting as well.

Nothing wrong with saving $.

Eh, if it's not noticeable I don't care, and I didn't notice any of those.

best to recycle the good parts from pearl instead of let them rot in hell, so it's cool

the shot from pearl harbor didn't bother me, but the bad boys thing did. the whole movie just seems like bay touching himself for over 2 hours

And when he wasn't touching himself, he was peeing on you (the Bumblebee scene).

A number of Directors tend to reuse types of shots that they like. Especially if its ones they came up with. Sam Raimi's shot when Ash is losing his mind in the original Evil Dead, where he is moving the camera at different angles is one of the trippy things that got him noticed to make a better sequel(along with making the most of an extremely tiny budget). Years later he uses that same style when Norman Osbourne starts to hear the Goblin in his head and he's looking around the room and at the stairs in Spiderman.

I vaguely remember seeing some **** film once on HBO that had every single action shot lifted from Top Gun (I think it was Top Gun)

To call it recycling was being generous, to say the least.

reusing stock fotage like that is no biggie.. but he also reshoot scenes from The rock.. when Sam is running with the flare in slow mo ...

Same effects company too, makes sense.

it saves them money.

money, which in turn can be devoted to other assets.

so do i mind? not at all.

Also remember there was a shot of someone's eye in Darkman that Raimi put in Spider-Man as well.

Bay wasn't the first one to do it, and he won't be the last.

Haha, Yah I caught that too. I tried to tell my friend, but he looked at me like "What the hell are you talking about?" So I just stayed quiet. :o

Also, not recycling, but I loved that line: "This is the most amazing thing since Armageddon!"

considering the budget
and considering it's not some wall in a house (but a rather expensive shot)

and considering it's his work

...
