Currently only open in Seattle, the process involves just scanning your phone at the entrance, picking up all the items you need, and just sashaying your way out the door sans waiting in a line. Interesting yet creepy, per the norm.

I think the intent of the video was to make it look like these people were stealing only to reveal: Nah that's how we do things. It's an interesting concept, but I see turnstiles being installed or something to prevent people who don't use the app inside. I wonder which platforms that app will be available on.

The phone scan is great concept, but I'm sure they'll have security of some sort at the front to try to prevent theft if anybody can just walk in and take what they want as shown in the video.

I saw video of this store the other day. Despite how awesome it is there's the guilty part of me that sees it as stealing, lol. Still like to try it out though.

If I were Amazon, I would handle returns the same way they do with packages. Withhold the money until the item is returned to the store.
