Which modern screen Clark Kent would you say played him the best, or most believably, Superman aside.

I gotta go with Dean Cain, i can't really count Tom welling since he is playing a pre-superman clark kent.

Routh. I liked his mix of pre-crisis and post-crisis Clark Kent...

I HATE geeky Clark.

Overall I go with Dean Cain.
But Tom is good too. The last 2 seasons he was pretty good.

Christopher Reeve was a great Superman but he was not a great Clark Kent.

I'm torn between Cain & Welling.

THis is gonna take 2 answers

Best Clark kent so that no one would ever suspect he was Superman--Chris Reeve

Best Clark Kent ( as a well rounded person) Dean Cain.

EL

This poll is kinda uneven, considering Welling isn't playing the same CK as the other three.

I think the best are Dean Cain or B.Routh (I voted Routh) but my favorite is is C.Reeves.
In the mean time it's difficult to judge T.Welling acting because he's not shown in urban Clark working IMO. But the few times I saw it he was perfect in my opinion , a mix between Reeves and Cain .... around Routh am I clear?
In fact I think they all did a great job!
Depends on what you think Clark Kent is ...
But overall they were cool, the 4 of them .

In fact I see Clark as a character full of naivity and yet full of effectivness in his job.

Tom Welling cause he is so awesome as clark kent in Smallville.

Routh he was my favorite Clark.

Reeve was a great Clark. If he'd played it the way he played Superman, like Dean Cain did, people would have guessed in 5 minutes that he was Superman, which is one of the reasons why the new adventures of Superman was so silly.

Christopher Reeve's my favorite, but mostly for his portrayal of Clark in Superman III.

In it, he was still the timid, introverted Clark from the previous two, but he wasn't exactly nerdy. He's not cool or strong, but a good person and someone a lot of people could relate to imo. And he's not exactly like Superman either, they still appear to be two different people.

So it's the perfect combination. Clark isn't annoying, and the disguise is still intact. To me, his Clark Kent persona in III is what Clark would really be like if he didn't have powers.

Are we talking farm boy clark or geeky undercover clark?
but welling is hot so i vote him anyway:woot:

The best Superman ever is Reeve. But the best Clark is Dean Cain. And that's not Reeve's fault. It's just that Donner's version of Clark is wrong. That version of Clark is putting forth such an act that he's sacrificing all aspects of a normal or personal life in exchange for the unemcumbered existance of Superman. And that's a Batman trait...not Superman.

It also makes no sense when you consider his pursuit of Lois Lane. In the Reeve movies and SR, the "act" of Clark Kent is the one pursuing Lois. So even if Lois ever fell for geek Clark, she's still falling for a facade...

I personally like the version of Superman where the Kent persona isn't used to hide the existance of Superman, but to allow Clark the options of both the life of a somewhat-normal guy and that of a superhero. And that's what the Dean Cain version portrayed.

Cain did a great job but he had the best material to work with. It would be interesting to see Welling with better scripts for his character because he the has the potential to be the best.

Well said! Maybe some people need to read Action Comics No.1, they'll see that Clark was more timid and "a bit of a bumbler." :super:
