First off, if you must, merge this into the Last Thing You Ate Thread. I'm sorry for making a seperate thread but for some reason unknown to me, I cannot locate that thread. The search feature didn't work for me and I went through 13 pages, and wasn't able to find it.

Anyhow as much of a foodie as I am, I've never had French food. Well tonight I ate dinner at a French restaurant and it was FANTASTIC. I had this puff pastry stuffed with goat cheese and topped with this spicy tomato sauce for an appetizer, with fresh, hot French bread which came in small dinner roll sizes with these molds of butter(one was a sunflower and the other a rosebud).

For the main course I had Mediterranean Shrimp, which was jumbo shrimp with angel hair pasta, mushrooms, sun dried tomatos, spinach, black olives, purple onions and feta cheese. :hyper:

^The Grammar Nazi.

J/k :D

It was called Currents. I don't know if its a chain or if its locally owned. It was very nice, very formal dining.

Cagneys, in my home town.

Appetizer, calamari and the best ceaser salad ever, topped with unlimited garlic bread.

Main course is a 12 OZ Prime Rib with french fries...*drools*

Popeyes chicken tenders are rooocking.

I made an incredible seafood lasagna. Fresh noodles, shrimp, spinach and scallops. I can't remember the sauce,it was from a jar,but I threw in some saffron. **** ya! :yay:
I need to make that again some day soon.

omg wait, no, gross, I hate food.

Down with Popeyes and everything edible!!

Just thinking about Popeye's "chicken" makes me want to vomit. :csad:

Maybe since Canada is like Bizarro World, Popeye's is actually good over there or something.

Well, if you break the chicken tenders into little popcorn pieces then I can deal with them. Otherwise by the time I'm through the first one the roof of my mouth is all cut up and gushing blood.

I had Popeye's chicken once in a moment of desperation during a long car trip, and that **** brought me as close to death as I've ever been. :csad::down

Totlly. I do enjoy it though. Especially their fries and coleslaw. Hoowah, nothing better than getting a bunch of their fries if you have no time to go home and eat. :word:

I've never had french food and my uncle is from Toulouse,France. Well he is a pastry chef. I'm starving. :csad:

It sounds killer.

indoors, it was probably some chicken stuffed with peppers, and mushrooms and seasoned with a soysauce and mustard combo searved with fried rice and the remainder of the mushrooms...

me and my date at the time co-prepared it all, it was fun to make and it was quite magical as the whole air was filled with chemistry, really good night and so was the course

eating out, it would probably be a tapas bar, la vina i went to about a month ago with a date, really good food, service was excellent and not too badly priced either....as well as the company and the general conversation.

dinners on your own or with non-dates are different because your motivations are different, like getting as much food rammed down you in the shortest possible time at the cheapest price then taking a nap, so i won't really count them, same goes for xmas meals...

if i had to choose a best overall, i would say it was the first one i mentioned
