For me it would have to be Forrest Gump, obviously and if Shawshank Redemption had won it woulda been that. 1994 will forever be one of the best years of film.
But i say Forrest gump. What say you?

Goodfellas should've won in 1990.

JFK should've got it in '91.

Shawshank or Pulp Fiction should've got in 1994

Almost Famous should've won in 2000 (though Gladiator was a fair winner)

Shows how worst the Oscars have become (they've always been bad, but now it's laughable).

Forest gump, silence of the lambs, unforgiven, Schindlers List, all pretty great movies.

Crash ? Million ? Chicago ? Shakespeare In Love ? Gladiator ? Return of the king ? All mediocre to good movies at best. I'm still glad a genre movie like return of the king was able to get in there though, but aside from that ? Bleh.

Unforgiven-Didnt see it.
Schindlers list- Great movie
Forrest Gump- Good movie, but pulp is much better IMO.
Braveheart- Classic
English Patient- Didnt see it
Titanic- I must admit, liked the movie lol.
Shakepeare in love- Didnt see, but over private Ryan COME ONE WHAT WAS THE ACADEMY THINKING.
American Beauty- Didnt like it
Gladiator- Classic
Beautiful Mind- Good movie
Chicago- Hmmmmmmmmmmmm over rated
Lotr return of the king- At this point i was thinking to myself, about time!!! lol Great movie.
Million dollar baby- highly over rated. The neck breaking scene was so laughable. Good movie but not best movie material.
Crash- Great movie. Loved it

I'd say Lotr was the best IMO. Crash close second.
