Better Call Saul! - Breaking Bad Spinoff A Go At AMC

Episode 2 was fantastic. I really like Tuco's right hand man. Was he on Breaking Bad at all? I don't remember him, but he seems to be the brains behind the operation (which clearly Tuco needs because he's a psycho). That scene were Saul was negotiating with Tuco was pure gold. It was hilarious and terrifying at the same time.

Also, Jamie Luner still looks good. As Stacee Jaxx would say, her "t**s have held up well." Odd that she didn't get any dialogue though. Hopefully she'll pop up somewhere again. I was in love with that girl when I was like, 16.

This show is just firing on all cylinders straight out the gate. I'm so glad we are getting this new look into the world of Breaking Bad. This doesn't even feel like a spin off. More of a companion piece to the original series. Just, absolutely stellar so far.

'Nacho' was never on BrBa, but BrBa Wiki had this;

When Saul is hold at gunpoint by Walt and Jesse in the second season, Saul (mistakenly thinking that people sent by a person named Lalo are holding him at gunpoint) says "it wasn't me, it was Ignacio." Since the name Nacho is short for Ignacio, it might be possible Saul talks about the same person.

I like the notion that Nacho is Saul's intro to being a sleaze for criminal kingpins.

Have we heard any news on Krazy-8 showing up?

Interesting. Yeah, I could see Krazy 8 making an appearance.

I just hope we get some Gus. Since Mike is there, I assume we'll get some kind of glimpse into how they begin working together.

I'm fine with early BrBa criminals, but don't want to see Gus. We've seen his 'origin' and kind of want him to only be the secret bad guy for BrBa sense.

They could easily do stories in the future/present tense. I wouldn't be surprised if they returned to that. They are bound by certain things in the canon since this is a prequel but they still have a lot of creative freedom.

Hopefully, he'll get a better life by the end of the show. Bob Odenkirk plays this character with so much heart that it's hard not to like him.

This was great. I'm loving Saul even more now. When I was watching the latter half of season five of BB, I looked at Saul in a different way. Just the layers that have been added to him don't negate anything about what made him so appealing. Everything has been done right. It's the Saul we know, but we're seeing the layers of him. That scene in the desert was superbly written that beautifully captures Saul.

I'm just relieved this show has surpassed expectations.

If you put Walter White in Saul Goodman's shoes, he wouldn't have been able to save those kids from dying

So what's the deal with Saul's brother? Dementia, or something else? I can't figure it out.

Probably not, but Jimmy was also dealing with Tuco in a better frame of mind. This was pre-meth Tuco.

Well however you look at it, Tuco was always two scoops of crazy.

Those two skaters are legends.

They called Tuco's grandmother a biznatch and lived.

So ready for the Insider podcasts to start. That was one of the best parts of BB and I'm thrilled Kelly Dixon is going to do them again.

But even still. Walter White would have maybe pleaded a little but after getting death stared by Tuco, he would have just watched horrified, and then he would have told himself afterwards that there was nothing he could have done. He would have never thought to negotiate it like a lawyer.

I read somewhere that it was cancer and I just took it as fact but it doesn't seem so? Seems like dementia.

Yeah, it definitely seems more mental than anything.

I think I loved this episode even more than the pilot. This show is just gold.

It's genius of them to portray EHS on the show. At some point, it's going to spark discussion about it and there will eventually be plenty discussion as to it's validity. I feel for those people. Going through something like that would make most people think you are crazy but as evidence and firsthand testimonials show, it is a very real thing. It's just rare and has nothing but firsthand accounts to back it up.

Watching this again. The severed head thing wasn't as goofy as I remember. It just really took me by surprise when they held that head up lol. Still goofy but I think the surprise of it is what took me out of the show.
