Yeah another good episode that leaves us with more questions than answers.

Great episode. It's nice to see Mike and Saul interacting like that. Oh, and I'm curious as to what Jimmy will do. Great ending.

The first two episodes were slow for me. It felt like there wasn't enough plot to sustain them. This episode, however, was great. It felt like classic BrBa: the race against time followed by the ending that leaves you wanting more.

I'll bet Saul will blackmail the family into becoming his clients. The Kettlemans look like they could be fun yuppie semi-villains, like an evil Gretchen and Elliot.

[BLACKOUT] So, the family went to the woods? Isn't that much riskier than simply grabing a car and getting out of town? I know people want to be close to their homes, but this just seems like a very risky option for them to take, unlike with a home, their tent offers zero protection. [/BLACKOUT]

Like Mike said, nobody wants to stray too far from home base. It's the return to the scene of the crime mentality. You got ties.

Yeah, i know that, but since it seems like they're into a lot of trouble, i would expect running as far from the problem as possible would be more helpful for them. Also, i don't realy remember if the house was big enough to cover it, but wouldn't Tuco's friend be able to see the family getting out of the house?

This show gets better and better with each episode. Finally more interaction between Mike and Saul! :awesome:

“You didn't do the sex robot voice, did you?” :lmao:

The chances of them getting found running around in public were far, far higher than anyone figuring out they'd just bumbled a few miles into their backyard.

Nacho was probably parked out front while they escaped through the back.

My guess is that the pan was to camp out there for a few days, let Craig grow a beard, then he could ditch his glasses, buy a new car, and they'd be off for Mexico. Something like that.

Not really feeling this show. I'm a Breaking Bad fan, and at ths point it's the only thing that's keeping me returning.

I'm sorry. I want to like it. I'm wondering if people like it simply because it's a BB spin off and already love the Saul character, or geniuely like this show independantly of those two things? In other words, if BB never existed would people still like this show based on what we've seen so far….not trolling, just genuiely curious.

I thought the first two episodes were pretty weak, but this most recent episode turned it up a notch. I think it'll keep getting better as Jimmy slips deeper into a criminal lifestyle.

I think that if you didn't watch BB then it wouldn't be as interesting but knowing the character evolves into the Saul we know from the show, it keeps people coming back to see how he changes. Especially since Mike showed up, that just makes it fun waiting until he shows his badass side.

Personally, I don't let the feelings on the original series color my feeling about the spin off. Like, for instance, as unpopular as I know it is, I always hated Beavis and Butthead. Never got the humor, never got into the show. But Daria is one of my favorite animated shows of all time, I didn't let that distaste of the show it spun off have anything to do with my enjoyment of that show.

Same here. I'm a pretty firm believer that spin offs should be able to stand on their own. I'm enjoying Saul for its own quality.

I don't think the question is so much "Would we still like the show?" (I'm sure we would) as it is "Would we be watching it at all?" It took me until BrBa's fifth season for me to jump on board, so God knows when I ever would've caught on to this one.

These first 3 episodes are right on par with the first 3 of breaking bad, if not better

Great writing, directing, and Odenkirk. Yeah, pretty sure I'd dig it if BrBa didn't exist.

Its definitely a companion to BB . It starts after the events of the series finale, it assumes we already know him. Tuco and Mike are both introduced as if we knew them too. I wouldn't recommend this show to someone who hasn't seen Breaking Bad.

It'll likely move into the present /future eventually.

Eh... not really. If anyone were jumping onto this show one could see the opening of episode one as something like the fragmented openings of S2 of BB with the airplane crash. Someone who has never seen Breaking Bad would ask what the hell this black and white sequence is about with this guy in this situation?" You need to look at the flipside to see how Tuco and Mike act in the context of this show. The writers know BB fans know and that's not only serves to keep BB fans interested, but also to keep the tension high for people who don't know who Tuco is. To them he's just a dangerous looking mother****er with a big ass gun and Jimmy looks to be in a tight spot.

I doubt the writers approached this with the intent that people must watch BB before this. Writing shouldn't have to work like that in most cases. Like how Joss Whedon says you shouldn't have to see the previous Marvel films to see Avengers: Age of Ultron. It should all be able to function in its own respect and have its integrity. If they kept going down that route I doubt this show will survive that long. How else are they going to be able to break out of their mold and find their own identity as this series progresses?

This pre-knowledge is just an added bonus for BB fans.

The latest episode of the Insider podcast was great.

Breaking Bad is not absolutely necessary to understand BCS but it adds so much to the enjoyment of the show that it might as well be.
