Bewitched reboot in the works at Sony

So this will play it straight over the 2005 film which was a sort of meta version.

But...why? If anything do a tv show. The show had a fun mythology.

Don’t do it. WandaVision was more than enough.

The 2005 movie had perfect casting with Nicole Kidman and Shirley MacLaine and even that still couldn’t cut it with that script.

I dunno, even 60 years later, she's a tough act to follow

They tried a movie already, I think this would work better as a streaming series.

Elizabeth Olsen for Samantha.

I was just looking up the old show because I never knew the story behind why they switch Darrens in the later season. ****, man. Dick York really had a hard life. I feel terrible for the guy with all the health issues he had.

Anyway, I think a reboot of this could work but it almost feels unnecessary after WandaVision. But it could work. I agree that going the TV route would be better than a movie.

There was a TV series in the works very recently with possibly a black female lead. I don't know what's happening to that if there's now a movie in the works.

Why? They already tried a remake/reboot back in 2005 with Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman which was pretty damn mediocre

Hollywood just never learns. It’s amazing how creatively bankrupt all studios are

If they're going to remake this, they should set in the 1960s as in the original and take some inspiration from Mad Men. I'm not sure I really want to see a take set in modern times as it wouldn't have that classy and swinging period feel.
