Hey remember Skyline? Remember how you really wanted a sequel? Well here it is!

It does have Frank Grillo though, and he was in Winter Soldier and the Purge sequels.

Oh wow. Will they deal with the bats*** crazy ending from the first one?

Unlikely.

I just love this and trailer 2 for Geostorm.

Wiki says this is VOD and limited theaters. And filming started late 2014 on this. It being a indie and how great CGI is ($20 mil budget) thats understandable.

I'll watch it for Frank Grillo and Iko Uwais.

My review

This feels like a fever dream in the best possible way. Imagine if you put District 9, Transformers, Predator, The Raid, Rogue One, and Godzilla into a blender and this is the result you get (With a low budget although it looks good for $20M). It's the sequel to Skyline which had an interesting concept, but was ruined by a cheap story with horrible performances. This one takes the first one and kinda resets it with better cast of characters. Frank Grillo is always solid and he does lift the movie up a lot when it starts. Bojana Novakovic was not bad. Iko Uwais and a couple of the Raid crew were great when they eventually show up. This movie is the very definition of B movie cinema. It's got balls to the wall action and it escalates and evolves into a different type of movie as it goes along. Overall, it's by far the most surprised i've been when watching a movie. I may be hyping it up, but if you're into good schlock, check it out. It's a solid B movie.
9/10

I'm just shocked.

I'd check out the sequel if it actually gets released here.

The first one had a weak story and really bad acting, but I was impressed with the look of the movie. It definitely looked like it cost more than the $10m budget.

With double the budget and an improvement on the acting quality I'm definitely curious to see how it turned out.

Whats great about it is they use a man in a practical suit instead of CG for the aliens. And it looks great.

I've heard great things about this and it looks awesome but I wish they would have called it something different. Beyond Skyline is one of the dumbest titles I've ever heard.

I actually checked this out as Kane's review made me curious, and I have to say I really enjoyed it for what it is. Way better than the first one, both in acting and storywise.

Kane says it all in his review, but a little fun bonus was also the "bloopers in front of green screen" during credits, in which you see the aliens in actual suits.

A big improvement over the first film in every way. I got exactly what I wanted out of this what I should have gotten out of the first movie and that's characters you actually give a **** about kicking alien ass. I shouldn't even have to mention how much of a fan I am of Frank Grillo at this point, but the guy is just too ****ing cool and that's no different here. Hell I even marked out for a bit when he and[BLACKOUT] Iko Uwais[/BLACKOUT] had a fight scene. Sure the acting isn't the best and the CGI is dodgy at times, but for a moderately budgeted film it feels like a epic blockbuster which is more than what I can say for crap like Independence Day: Resurgence. As much as I liked the first half the second half is easily my favorite, because its balls to walls action and how can you not love seeing the guys from The Raid movies use martial arts on badass, practical alien soldiers.

7/10

^Sums up the first one perfectly. Never thought I'd have any interest in seeing a sequel - but this doesn't sound too bad, plus I'm a fan of Grillo.

Captain America Civil War cast reunion with Frank Grillo and Callan Mulvey in this movie.

Yayan Ruhian and Iko Uwais from The Raid and Star Wars The Force Awakens also team up again in this film.

The blind guy is Huggy Bear from Starsky & Hutch and the Cop lady was from Get Out.

Just an fyi... the movie is on netflix.
