Big Capcom PS3 announcement next week?

It's about friggin' time that they announced SF4. But this still begs the question, what is the Friday PS3 news?

Apparently the site that broke all the news broke NDA, it's highly possible that Lost Planet PS3 was the wednesday announcement and everything else was what was suppose to be embargoed until Friday.

At this point does anyone really care about getting Lost Planet? You'd think they'd be working on a sequel by now

Well, regardless of what the announcement was supposed to be, it's been a big week for Capcom. LP PS3 edition, Street Fighter 4, and the Bionic Commando remake all in a stretch of just a few days! :wow:

Lost Planet hit at the right palce at the right time, I think Capcom will need to make strides with Dead Rising 2, and (especially) Lost Planet 2, for them to perform well in comparison to the originals. Lost Planet really isn't very good, and while I know the whole "Let's see how PS3 owners feel about Capcom at the end of next week" comment was warped into "Capcom will have some PS3 megaton" I was hoping for something other then a port of LP, and 2 multiplatform games.

Well, at least this means PS3 is getting more love from Capcom, even if they made the moronic mistake of moving Monster Hunter to Wii. Hopefully we'll be seeing Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2 on our favorite glossy black console day-in-date with their 360 counterparts.

I didnt see Capcom going back and porting these games but I defiently expected their sequels to come to the PS3. I

Come on man, this is Capcom we're talking about, one of the most profit-conscious companies on the planet. After their RE and DMC defections do you think they giva a damn about anything other than the $? Porting games to another system is WAY more cheaper than starting another one from scratch. Admirable economic strategy.

of course but thats not my point. I figured theyd be working on a sequel for the 360 by now which would most likely also get a PS3 release. Theres more money to be made there, releasing a new game for 2 consoles. I thought they'd focus their resources on that rather than porting an older game which may not sell as well as it did when it was new. They could be doing both though but who knows.

Capcom? Those lazy ***ks? Leave it to them to recycle a game 4 times before releasing a real sequel. DMC is one of the only few unplagued by this habit.
