Bill Hader is BARRY (HBO)

Jeez, and I thought the ending to the second episode was dark...

Absolutely loved the homage to Michael Mann's Thief.

The moment I saw the RT scores on their streaming service, I knew it was talking about NBC's Peacock.

And to think Hader and Co. had the foresight to cast Mark Paul Gosselaar before the Saved by the Bell cancellation even hit…

Okay two moments in this episode made me laugh out loud for like 5 minutes straight. The cops and the Bolivians showing up at the Chechan drug base at the same time and Barry freaking out Sally at the end which was so messed up and uncomfortable that it made me laugh even harder lol.

Just watched the latest episode and I gotta say this season has been worth the extra long wait we endured.
Also nice to see Michael Ironside an Laura San Giacomo make an appearance.:yay:

I dont think it's a shot at specifically Peacock as much as streaming in general. Maybe Netflix specifically
Actually this is what Hader had to say

“I did have a guy I worked with tell me, ‘Hey, I have a show. It’s gonna be on Netflix,’ and then going on Netflix and seeing it on the homepage that morning. Then I came back that night to watch it and it wasn’t on the homepage anymore so I searched it and it was like that joke that’s in there where she had to type out pretty much the whole thing before it showed up. That is from life.”
Bill Hader Recaps Barry Season 3 Episode 5

Oh I know it's streaming in general and I listened to Bill Hader talk about the Netflix story. It's just the interface on that Banshe site is eerily similar to Peacock where it has the RT scores next to whatever you're watching.

Oh I didn't know Peacock did that

Peacock, huh? I would make a The Good Place joke, but apparently that series isn't on Peacock now, but Netflix as of now. Strange. Unless there's still some deal in place, I would've figured NBC, like other companies, pulled their original programming and put it on their own platform.

That's what they, and everyone, is doing. IT's just they have other deals currently in place that they can't break on a whim.

Expect in 5 years all NBC content to be on Peacock, Paramount stuff to be on Paramount+, etc.

I half expected to see a Grand Theft Auto "Mission Passed" graphic pop up when Barry brought the beignets to Chris's wife. That was better than most chase scenes I've seen in the majority of recent big budget blockbusters.

I wouldn't even say "most" I'd say "all". I can't remember the last time I really enjoyed a chase scene in a big budget blockbuster. Not that I've disliked any but still.

It's also funny cuz Stranger Things 4 just had imo the best gunfight/shootout sequence I've seen in a long time this weekend too

I said "most" because I'm giving the benefit of a doubt to Top Gun Maverick, which I haven't seen yet. But if you were to tell me five years ago that an HBO comedy directed by Bill Hader would have one of the best action scenes in years I'd have called you crazy.

OT: Maverick was great. Really good. Great action scenes. Don't know if I'd say it had a great chase scene.

But yeah I agree. Never would've guessed Hader would be directing some of the best action scenes or that Jordan Peele was director so of the best horror or Donald Childish Gambino Glover was doing some of the best racial commentary on TV/film.
Really good time for comedic creative types
