BLM Protests Across The World

The funerals was mostly attended by family and actual friends. It was live streamed and whatever but it still included his loved ones and people who knew him
I don't care if Ray Charles, Jesus, and MLK came down from heaven to pay their respects. Why does anyone else care? This wasn't a funeral of a questionable man, who we need to ask ourselves if we should be celebrating him or not.

I agree with this. I've also seen people observing a lot of the "**** white people" sentiment (and statements) on social media which won't help the cause, or may push people away who otherwise would have wanted to contribute to the cause. People are obviously very emotional, but another thing that has become crystal clear for many people, aside from how thuggish and poorly trained many officers are, is that racism/bigotry is most certainly a two-way street. This is what both parties want and why power is more consolidated among those who rule then ever before. Divide and Rule. Racists are emboldened, ideologies crystalized/radicalized, and people who are on the fence behind the scenes (the silent majority?) largely remain there, likely leading them to continue voting for their own self-interest as opposed to change.

"A house divided within itself cannot stand."
What the hell does that mean?

Sometimes things happen and they are just so egregious that people can't turn away anymore. You remember the saying "A single spark can start a prairie fire"? Well, I think we've got a prairie fire. Let's stay cool headed and keep our eye on the real prize....a shift towards equality. Frankly, the police have been a major impediment.

Years ago, there was discussion within our union regarding our ties with the police. I argued then, and think history has shown me to be right, that we should not affiliate with police unions. My comment was "I don't need my union brothers and sisters clubbing me over the head when I'm on a picket line."

They are not the majority. A lot of the "**** white people" sentiment is just people asking to be treated as equals. When you have had privilege ingrained, losing it feels like oppression.

You heard it here first, folks: black people are equally at fault for racial tensions in America.

The cops feeling sore about being asked to not kill with impunity is a good example of this.

That's why I put the question mark (?)

Fair enough, I'm just communicating how many take that.

Im concerned that criminals with grudges could potentially stalk or track down current and former cops using public records. But as long precautions are taken and the records wont endanger ongoing cases it should be fine.

So, it is okay for cops to hide badge numbers and names? And not give you any information about them at all? Because that is really the only way to prevent something like this. Total anonymity. Which has its own problems. But, police officers are public servants, they need to be held accountable to the public.

The "Obama was the real cause of racial tension" takes are bad.

Names I could understand but there has to be some way of identifying a police officer if they did something wrong. I think badge numbers should always be uncovered. If they wore their bodycams at all times too it would weed out the worst ones pretty quickly.

Marv, you do realize Hard to Kill was a fictional movie right? It wasn't a documentary.
I dont even know what that is. You'll forgive me if I dont trust the integrity of bitter criminals. Humans stalk and murder people. Idk why you consider cops immune to that risk.

Neither do I. Which is why I don't trust the NYPD to discipline their own, and thus shouldn't be allowed to hide their records.

Again , what is this nonsense with Obama, I never brought him up. And it wasn't a 'take' as much as an observation.
