BLM Protests Across The World

It would be harder to villify the NYPD if they, you know, took a united stand against policy brutality istead of conducting a protester crackdown.

And saying Obama raised racial tension is like saying George Floyd increased police brutality. How about giving some credit to actual racist?

Conservatives love to blame Obama for the rise in racial tension. You are blaming a rise in racial tension on black people. Who do not want to be summarily killed.

1) I'm not conservative

2) I did no such thing. I didn't signal out black people, some I don't know what race they are on twitter. I've seen whites hating on other whites trying to have a dialogue and basically saying they don't have the 'right' to an opinion.

I was told to f-off by a Chinese American in Brooklyn for discussing CCP economic policies on the west.

Are you ever going to explain how racism is a two way street?

Aside from the obvious absurdity of "He faked his fall when we showed excessive force", he does not seem to understand how, after a week plus of watching their fellow officers be fired and disciplined because they were dumb enough to show force in public in the middle of this media frenzy, implying that this group or specific officer was only baited into horrible PR by a 75 year old agitator is not appreciably better from a job performance standpoint, and also not a good argument for not replacing said professional with better options.

You are in dire need of soul-searching if your reaction to all of this "yeah, but the door swings both ways!"

I mean, WHAT THE ****

"Stop treating us like animals and thugs and start treating us with some respect ... Our legislators abandoned us. The press is vilifying us. It's disgusting"

aka the press is treating them like how they treat citizens and are upset at the reversal.

All of those mean social media posts. Just as vile as killing a man with your knee.
More projection.

Of course these type sentiments were growing with regularity well before that killer cop, certainly since Trump was elected (the divisions further fed my media) Let's ignore that though so you can try to frame my comments in a much more negative light. As if making such an observation somehow means I can't grasp what happened to George Floyd was a tragedy.

I just listened to an interview with Charlamagne tha God. Look, I fundamentally agree with him and agree with the need to move Joe Biden from where he is today and in the direction of tomorrow. I believe we have an almost once in a lifetime opportunity to make a major shift in our policies and policing and I desperately want us to succeed. I want us to go beyond denying federal funding to police departments who don't meet a certain criteria. Exactly where we should go, I, frankly, don't know, but we have to have a short term fix and urgent discussions on fundamental reform that goes beyond words on a piece of paper. There clearly needs to be a sea change in how the police approach our communities. Bottom line, less guns and more training is my first thought.

What I don't want to hear is to bring God into a secular discussion and, while I've had my criticisms about Biden, let's not lose sight of what Trump has "accomplished" in his 3 1/2 years in office. I don't need God's forgiveness. I need people to recognize that I, and so many others, are imperfect beings who are willing to learn, admit to their mistakes, and keep trying to move a national discussion forward in the spirit of unity.

I'm honestly surprised it's still on the air

But this feels like when they took Dukes of Hazzard off the air. Most of us didn't care at all

Uh...the timing of this cancellation is a somewhat suspect given the climate we are in with law enforcement.

You have yet to elucidate your comments and seem oblivious to how utterly tone deaf they are. You're complaining about skinned knees in a thread about losing limbs.

Tucson needs an enema. This exactly the sort of reactionary BS we DON'T need. You think those cops would be under arrest if there hadn't been video? The message is protect the cops and screw the people they abuse. Can this even POSSIBLY be constitutional? If this is true, someone needs to explain.....

By "suspect" do you mean " blatently obvious and completely justified"?

My "guess" is that it was purely a financial decision. I'm sure the decision makers at Paramount (or whomever) suddenly had an epiphany and thought "Wow, we shouldn't have been showing this for years on end".

I could see it being somewhat sincerely motivated. That show was easy to take for granted as an institution and a solid cash cow. And yes, all of sudden, it's in extraordinarily bad taste

I can't.

$$$$$$$

Bad PR is bad for business.

I understand they seem tone-deaf if viewed in the context of comparing the white experience in the system vs blacks or minorities. I'm simply observing the anti-white rhetoric that's becoming more pervasive in media and on the internet. Things that would (may) be considered racist if used against other groups. Whether you think it's justifiable or not is not my point, nor am I looking for sympathy. My point was simple and in response to another poster regarding Trump support. There are people who do see a double standard in how language/behavior is judged, who are offended by being painted with the broad brush of being the 'problem', whether through ignorance, oversimplification, or vague language.

I got verbally attacked by someone accusing me of not accepting the global influence of China because it's a threat to white superiority. All I was doing was criticizing the double standard with with China operates in the global markets. It was such a reactionary push button response and utterly ridiculous. He was obviously conditioned heavily by the enviornment of modern 'dialogue'

Like what?

Is it? Seems pretty clear why they did it. Live PD should be next. After they admitted they destroyed the tape of a murder by the cops.
