BLM Protests Across The World

Seeing the winds of change, the White House wants to try and steal the credit. Probably though they will be a toothless and useless "excecutive order" that doesn't do much.

A cynical man would think that it would be something to retroactively justify what Barr has been doing with the Stone and Flynn cases. Using police reform to justify getting Trump's buddies off the hook. It absolutely will only be applicable to white collar crimes.

It is nice to see some actual numbers. The fact that so many companies recently have actually said "Black Lives Matter" is proof that the tide has shifted. Probably causing some consternation in the White House.

I’d still video it and make sure someone was videoing me so that the police reaction to my filming can be captured...

Can anyone imagine how Bad Boys 3 would be perceived had it been delayed to next year after this all broke out instead of coming out on January? :funny:

Poorly. At least with critics
You can tell with some movies how current events affect reviews. Especially when the reviews always reference said events
I remember for The Watch almost every review mentioning "It's irresponsible to show a wild Neighborhood watch group after the Trayvon Martin murder" or when "Let's Be Cops came out so many reviews spoke about how it's insensitive to show cops acting irresponsible. Like cops weren't acting up before
lmao

Oh I keep forgetting to say: Uber and Lyft were on some bull for surge charging during the protests

Happened to me as well. I've just driven and paid for parking every time, it's a 15 min drive tops but for whatever reason it says it'll take 40 minutes and cost me $20.

Right-wingers: "Not ALL cops are bad!"

Cops: "Oh yes we are."

Sounds like $750 well spent. I wouldn't worry too much about jail time. They know itd be a laughing stock in court so they will try to pressure people to plead guilty. Pay the fine and call their bluff, and find a pro bono lawyer that fights against constitutional rights violations.

HBO Max pulls Gone With the Wind from its streaming service

An HBO Max spokesperson had this to say about the decision:

"Gone With the Wind is a product of its time and depicts some of the ethnic and racial prejudices that have, unfortunately, been commonplace in American society. These racist depictions were wrong then and are wrong today, and we felt that to keep this title up without an explanation and a denouncement of those depictions would be irresponsible. These depictions are certainly counter to WarnerMedia’s values, so when we return the film to HBO Max, it will return with a discussion of its historical context and a denouncement of those very depictions but will be presented as it was originally created because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. If we are to create a more just, equitable, and inclusive future, we must first acknowledge and understand our history."

Glad HBO is going to keep these type of films untouched and have a discussion about it. Unlike Disney who just wants to erase and digitally censor old films.

As long as those POS arent on the job there probably isnt much risk of them harming anyone.

The irony of this....Gone With the Wind features the first Academy Award win by an African American actress.

We could rename it Columbu Day in honor of Franco Columbu....just have to remove the S from signs.

I'd rather they make it a holiday honoring native americans. That seems fitting considering Columbus's arrival in the Americas resulted in more than one racial and cultural genocides.

Eh I don't think that means much. Stepin Fetchit was the first millionaire black actor. Which good for him, but you know he was called "Stepin Fetchit"

Considering GWTW came out in 39 it's a big achievement that Hattie Mcdaniel won the award. And she deserves the recognition of being the first black person and the first black woman to win an Oscar.
