BLM Protests Across The World

Looks like they are moving to fire one of the officers involved in Breonna Taylor's death. I think there should be more.

There absolutely should be more.

Accountability cannot end with the officers there when the shooting took place.

The **** ups allowed along the way that led to the shooting simply must be laid at members of the PD up and down the line.

Something as egregious as this shooting do not happen if everything is on the up and up.

Many people were involved with how this situation spiraled to the point a woman was gunned down while she was in bed at home.

And that those people are still pulling paychecks paid with by taxes goes to the heart of accountability.

Sadly, the former officer will likely be reaping in hundreds of thousands of dollars. If the man who killed George Floyd can crowdfund his million dollar bail, this guy will be making a fortune.

I didn't know their bail was crowdfunded.

Read on FB today that the Atlanta officer has raised 250K so far.

I just... I have no words.

I can't even wrap my head around that for a milli-second.

"These guys killed someone for no reason and now the stupid libs are mad, can you even believe it?! Send them your money NOW!

Given the current political climate I just realized something: the highest grossing movie of 2020 so far is Bad Boys 3, which centers on black police officers.

Now just think about that for a second: The current highest grossing movie of the year is about Black cops.

There’s something kind of funny about that in a twisted way. Granted, obviously, given how the pandemic has stalled the movie industry I know that movie is only the default king of the box office, but I can’t help but find this fact strangely humorous nonetheless.

Just one of my many useless observations.

On the face of it this should be a slam dunk in terms of public support.

There is no real gray area to argue for in favor of the police... And yet.

White Americans... If the system and individuals can get away with shooting people of color in bed who have no reason to be targets of the state in the first place, then sorry to burst your bubble but if they can do that to them and get away with it, they will surely be able to do that to you and yours.

All you so called small government conservatives and libertarians... You have had examples of government overreach and abuse to rally around (And thus build your base/numbers) for many decades. Served up on a silver platter. The abuse, intimidation and sometimes outright murder of Americans at the hands of law enforcement.

The overall response from the Libertarian/Small government crowd?

Crickets.

Same with the NRA not raising much of a fuss for Philando Castillo.

Time and again Blacks and Latinos have been shown how much these Conservative Americans that will yell and scream about "tyranny" can't see actual, rubber meets the road government abuse and oppression that is actual, real, based in the reality of the lives of their fellow Americans.

One has but to wonder why, and racial bias is the only reason left standing.

To those who have continually turned a blind eye to this or who saw the President use undocumented thugs to attack those exercising their Constitutional rights and cheered him on, I say this... Just pick a number. The Authoritarians will be serving you shortly. Just as soon as they are done with the brownies.

But please... Continue to tell us all what brave champions of democracy you are for fighting back against (Checks notes)... "taxing the wealthy what they obviously can afford along with thinking hair stylists and tattoo parlors were necessities in the middle of a viral outbreak."

Yeah... Our opinions about ya'll aren't pulled out of thin air or constructed around elaborate fantasies where we are somehow both the bestest, greatest, strongest, most powerful yadda-yadda but also the most picked upon, oppressed and unfairly ridiculed group. That's on you guys and gals who can't seem to fathom that we don't want to all be walking around in fear of the police.

Everyday I'm still surprised about the protests going and law enforcement showing their true selves. When this whole thing started, I thought it would fizzle out within two days or so like past protests. It's crazy and getting worse every new day after two weeks now? Law enforcement and the government are making things harder and tougher and much worse that protests against law or racial descimination is actually called for. Keep provoking civilians

The right wing welfare machine is ripe for exploitation.

Yeah, eff the NYPD.

Justify this.

Anyone?

Forget about politics. Forget about questions of race.

Should we be okay with police departments so obviously hiding information from the public?

This goes to the heart of accountability (And again... Totally explains how the cops coast to coast reacted to calls from citizens to be held to account and reigned in from abuse...) and shouldn't even be a racial or political question. Just a question of good governance.

And I don't think it is a leap to assume this isn't the kind of problem that can be chalked up to geography alone.

This isn't a New York problem. Or a Boston one. Or a Houston one. Or a denver one. It is a coast to coast problem.

Cops aren't super heroes. They aren't gods beyond reproach. They are people who do a job for the public. All that is being asked is that we the public can hold them accountable for crimes and not have a system that covers for and rewards those using the badge as a way to commit crimes and which punishes whistleblowers and those seeking actual transparency.

This in all honesty should be a home run for those always worried about "tyranny" in government.

Yet oddly those are exactly the type to line up and make their opposition to holding LEO accountable for their actions known, rather loudly too.

There's no justification. Trying to do so is just finding excuses to be corrupt, hateful, racist or whatever. There's no being okay with this unless for one's bad and selfish agenda

Cops’ Most Deranged Lies and Bizarre Claims About the Protests

I get it... The early rioting scared a lot.

But the police in the country are going ape**** if you just breath at them.

I'm sorry to inform so many (especially if you are white...) but is it surprising that we as a society allowed police so much leeway they began to abuse it? And this is now dawning on many Americans only because the cops all over went too far and turned their sights on EVERYONE nit just people of color.

Which is what people of color were trying to warn the rest of America about.

Well I saw about 3 Blue Lives Matter shirts in the store. Looked like white country guys and a girl. They weren't wearing a face mask either.

You know... I am feeling those will have a changed tune sooner than later.

Sadly, I think that the areas of the country just starting to go into crisis mode at hospitals are gonna be hit in a way that is undeniable. So many looking to "stick it" to the opponents of the POTUS... Yeah, this will not end well for many. Worse, the states getting rocked now have **** healthcare infrastructure. The difference in population density as I see it is only going to stretch out the time needed to bring things to an even keel. I think, unforseen circumstances aside, the months until election mean more of those types you saw having to wrestle with the death and suffering they will witness firsthand or on the local news.
