Im upgrading my bandwidth soon and want to stop friends/family from accessing Limewire and other file-sharing softwares.

I hear file-sharing software hops from port to port, and I don't have a server/workstation, but I do have a new router (E3000) that will be on pretty much 24/7. I know there is software like Terminator X, but it won't do me any good if my main PC is off.

Do any of you have tips in blocking Limewire and other file-sharing services?

How many computers...do you own them, are are they brought into the network without your knowledge?

I own all but one of the Laptops that are being used by a relative. And that relative has a history of downloading illegal software and music Fortunately, he is on seldomly.

Frankly, I wouldn't let him on your network at all.

Abide by my rules and you can use my network.
Without spending a bunch of money you cant do much since you dont own all the pcs

I guess this is the best option to ensure nobody uses it for illegal activity. I'm going to send him a warning.
