OK, what I have here is a relatively simple and mundane task. I've got a video file of our granulating production line machine which I have to send to one of our suppliers. I recorded the video using a Sony Cybershot and the video file is in .MPG format and res of 640x480. Of course, that only means that my mere 5 minute video is now a whopping 380mb file.
So what I need to do now is to somehow get the whole thing under 50mb or less (preferably). There are a couple of things which are expendable in the process:
1. Resolution - I'm willing to crank it down a notch (or two) to get a smaller file size.
2. Audio - don't need it. I doubt anyone would be THAT interested in hearing the constant roar of twin 200hp DC motors.
So can anybody give me some suggestions here to achieve this? Compression? Change file type? Any free video editing software that can remove audio and reduce the resolution?
Thanks.
