Boom! Studios To Publish Farscape Comics

Do it for the muppets, man. Who will support the muppets if not us?! :csad:

wow...this thread died a death...

anyhow, i've been reading the comics and i freakin love them. bought issue 1 when it came out and have since got all the issues and dvds.

one thing i miss is the john/d'argo relationship which i really liked in the series but since d'argo is dead nothing can really be done about that. i'm liking the current arc more due to the john/d'argo stuff.

over all i freakin love farscape:up:

Yeah, the comics have been great. The art is a bit plain, but that's my only complaint so far. It'd be great if industry vets could work on some Farscape comics.

i liked the art in the 2nd arc, thought it was a step up from the first, but the art in this arc is kinda off in places, mostly with john...

you been reading the d'argo series?

I've been buying them. I read everything up until the two current series--the continuation of the present-day story and Dargo's Trial. I've been getting a backlog of comics to read because I've been playing a lot of video games lately.

i wasn't too keen on the first d'argo one and i've not read the trial one, gonna wait until it's complete...

if anyone is interested BOOM have made Farscape an ongoing, rather than mini series, after the end of the current one. hopefully this will make for shorter 2 issue arcs and longer 6 issue epics. i know that 4 issues clearly works well with this series but it's always fun to mix things up, and Farscape mixed things up alot in it's time.

Awesome. I've been enjoying the 4-issue mini-series quite a bit, although I've been letting D'argo's Trial build up so I can read all 4 issues at once. The one continuing the present-day story right now--Gone and Back, I think?--has been fun. I love alternate dimension stories. I'm almost hoping D'argo and/or Zhaan can come back to the "normal" reality from theirs, but that would be kind of cheap and they wouldn't really be the right D'argo and Zhaan.

i read the first issue of d'argo's trial but the art looks unfinished and really dull, so the others are sitting there...

i don't think d'argo or zhaan can come back can they? wasn't it just john who could do that strange jumping thing? i dunno, i can't really remember... plus the cover of the ongoing has jothee on the cover, no d'argo...

John dragged Staleek to Einstein with him. I imagine that means he can bring others to unrealized realities, too. Who knows, though? I don't really expect D'argo to come back. Just wishful thinking. :csad:

i totally can't remember that... but if they did bring d'argo back then it would just make his death feel cheap. then again it's sci fi so you can't rule anything out.

and what the hell happened to the webisodes? i kept hearing that the comics would tie into those but i've heard nothing about them since this series started

Yeah, I heard about them a while ago, but I haven't heard anything new about webisodes since then. Who knows?

Read all of Back and Gone lastnight and really enjoyed it, like a proper episode of the tv show:up: Makes me REALLY look forward to the ongoing :woot:

Stared on D'argo's Trial and not really liking that. Might just ignore it and leave it alone untouched for a few years...

I finished Gone and Back a while ago. Great stuff. I haven't started on D'argo's Trial yet. The last issue comes out next week, so I may just wait for that and read it in one sitting.

Read the ongoing issue 1 last night and it's just as good as the minis. Guy at my comic shop said Farscape is the only thing he's ever constantly sold out of and I was lucky to get it(last one, yay!!)

Kind of an awkward start to the ongoing, since it literally just picks up all of the plot threads from the previous minis with virtually no introduction for new readers, but having read those, I enjoyed it muchly.

I don't think it was ever not an ongoing, cause it's not like we had 3/4 months between the minis, like say Ghostbusters, they came thick and fast so to speak.

True. Still, I figured they'd at least give some kind of introduction to people who might've passed on the minis and decided to jump onboard with the ongoing.
