Bought Thought October 24th

I always wanted to read that

Then now is a good time. There are three HC's out or one Omnibus and then 1 HC, and then it comes to trades or back issue huntin'. INVINCIBLE really is the golden joy of superhero books now. If you like the superhero genre, you have to be reading it, or at least giving it a fair try.

That's what I think, 'course.

Just a few quick-shot reviews...

She-Hulk #22b
This isn't Slott's tongue-n-cheek She-Hulk. This is one of Peter David's worlds of intrigue. Time to get a new mindset each month. Things are about to get intense.

Robin #167
Good action, but Tim is still Bruce's son, so that makes it bad by default.

X-Men: First Class #5
Several things were proven in this issue.
1. The Hulk can be beaten when it's not his crossover.
2. Jean and Scott alone will do more damage to the Hulk than the rest of the original X-Men combined.
3. Never mess with an Ouija board when you've got two bored psychics in the house.

Green Arrow: Year One #6 (of 6)
Just because it's not an automatic weapon, that doesn't mean he can't injure you with it. Don't F with Green Arrow.

I gave up waiting for Invincible month by month, the trades are nice and timely so I just stuck to those.

I do say that a lot however, I was going to trade wait on Mouse Templar and ended up getting the 1st issue.

In your opinion, sure. Not in mine, though.

You don't follow Invincible on a monthly basis, do you?

When it comes to colorful, fun superheroics, Invincible has got every other book beat. Some of Kirkman's other work may be a little iffy, but that's the one book that he gets right with each and every issue.

Invincible is a book I love to read, but it's just more than a little overrated on the internet, or at least needs to stop being compared to the second coming.

You've never read Invincible? :wow:

Yo, READ IT!

That's more than enough recommendations for me

What if you got three recommendations to kill yourself rather than read Invincible? Would you reconsider?

Robin #167

Isn't Bruce's adoption of Tim just a legality, more than anything. I don't see what the big deal is. It makes sense to me.

At the end of the issue, Batman walks up to Jack Drake's grave and says "I'll take it from here." I think I rolled my eyes so hard at that panel, I almost heard them.

Again, unless I see something like Bruce playing catch with Tim, I think you guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

That sounds pretty badass to me.

Cheesy, but badass.

Tim bought Bruce a watch for Father's Day.

Mountain.

He basically stood on top of Jack's grave and said "He my son, now! Moo hoo ha ha!" Then disappeared into the night like a maniac.

Okay, not really, but I still dislike that panel.

I would definatly suggest killing yourself.
Yeah, me too.

That's three!

So I'm like halfway through Moon Knight, and I have no idea whats going on. This art is pissing me off so ****ing much.

Yeah, I didn't like the art on this issue at all. The pacing is disjointed a bit, although I figured out what was happening.

Marc meets with Khonshu (as Iron Man) who tells him to register with the SHRA so he doesn't have to worry about lawmen when he maims criminals. Of course, he didn't have to really worry about them to begin with, as instead of arresting Moon Knight or shooting him full of nanobots like Green Goblin or other loonies, Iron Man just has a detective "watch" him. Meanwhile, Frenchie is haunted and talks about it with his lover before heading to the Mooncave/hanger and chatting with the young African American fellow who's taken his place as Specter's assistant. Marlene is on a date with her new boyfriend but still has thoughts of Marc and her old life with her, especially after she beats the crap out of a mugger. The detective watching Specter tells a guy Moon Knight scarred for hitting his kid that some crooks get it worse to "scare him straight". Moon Knight meets with a SHRA shrink to gauge his registration membership, who uses the moon and some hyponosis (?) to bring out all of Specter's personalities. Finally, Khonshu reveals himself through Marc and scares the shrink so much that he gives Marc legal papers, which Moon Knight promptly shoves down the neck of a criminal who got off on a technicality during the Civil War. Marlene has rough sex with her new boyfriend while Frenchie and the "new kid" come to terms over working for a loonie.

Hope that helped. For me the title has all but run it's course, but a new creative team is starting with issue #14.

I actually really liked Moon Knight. That thing with his personalities really was a highlight of the entire series. While the last arc wasn't great this brought the quality back to the book.I want to see what happens in the Annual and #14.

Yeah, that scene was the highlight of the issue. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it, it was a "meh" issue (especially due to the art), and it was MK #13, officially, that got me to reconsider just how much money I drain on "meh" comics. Not even Ultimate X-Men. Moon Knight for chrissakes. I mean, it was nice for Huston to write a story and not have it take 6 issues.

I was initially impressed but now I don't mind Huston going. I want to see what this new creative team brings. If they have better pacing, plots, and less decompression, more power to 'em.

You know Hurston is staying on as a co-plotter.

I know. But we still have a new writer coming in to co-write things and add some new spice. Of course it may get worse, but it also may get better, and it is worth giving it an issue or two to see.
